Welcome to this charming 2-bedroom home in Ben Lomond! (Permit 231496) Enjoy the tranquil sounds of the river from the outdoor patio with plenty of seating & a BBQ. Relax in the cozy living room, whip up meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and unwind in the serene surroundings. Ideal for nature lovers!

*no direct access to the river from the house

The Space:
- Comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests
- 2 Bedrooms - w/ king & queen size beds
- 1.5 bathrooms
- 2 reserved parking spaces in the driveway. There is free parking on the street as well.
- Fully stocked kitchen w/ drip coffee maker
- Living room
- Patio w/ outdoor seating & BBQ
- For safety, the indoor fireplace & the outdoor firepit are not operable.

Note:
- This home is located near a main road, so you can expect to hear some road noise during your stay.
- No gatherings or parties allowed (strictly enforced)
- The exterior of this home is monitored by 24/7 surveillance recording devices for safety.
- Smart TVs with streaming capabilities (no local channels or cable).

Ben Lomond, CA, in the Santa Cruz Mountains, is a serene haven surrounded by redwood forests. Its small-town charm and outdoor allure make it a sought-after destination. With a tight-knit community, the town provides a peaceful retreat for residents and visitors alike, offering hiking trails, scenic beauty, and a relaxed atmosphere that captures the essence of mountain living.

This is a very quiet, family neighborhood. It is not a good place for gatherings or parties so please keep that in mind when booking this home. We are very respectful of our neighbors and will not tolerate loud noise past curfew and additional guests at the property.

Other Things to Note:
- Conveniently located near a main road, this home offers easy access to nearby attractions. You may hear some road noise during your stay, especially during peak times.
- Nestled beside a peaceful river, this home offers a wonderfully serene setting. Though there’s no direct access to the river from the house, you’ll still enjoy its calming presence nearby.
- We have landscapers, pest service, and other property maintenance done on a weekly basis. You may see or hear these service professionals during your stay as they let themselves into the backyard to service as needed. Please be sure to ask about this before booking if you think it might be an issue for you.
- TV is a smart tv with streaming capabilities. There are no cable or local channels.
- The exterior of this home is monitored by 24/7 surveillance recording devices for safety.
- We are required to stick to our cancellation policy and we suggest adding trip insurance for any last minute issues that may impact your travel (Weather, Illness, etc). We are not able to cancel, move or refund bookings that do not fall in our cancellation policy for any reason.

I was disappointed in this location. For the price, I expected more. Obviously many seemed to like this place. Tastes vary. I wouldn't stay here again. It was clean and well stocked with kitchen items. W/D worked well. Neighbor cat very friendly. Otherwise, points to consider...Lots of road noise, as Hwy 9 is only 180 ft away and is very distracting as cars bang over the steel bridge plates; plan on 65 dB sustained with peaks of 75 dB; hard to sit outside and relax. The listing touts a view of the river and the sound of the water...if you walk to the lower deck and stand by the rail you can indeed see about 20 ft of the river far below, inaccessible, but the sound of the water can't be heard over the highway noise, nor can you see the river from the cabin or adjacent deck. There isn't a table inside for meals, just the kitchen counter. Four people can only awkwardly eat inside, luckily the picnic table outside seats 4. The bdrms are about 8x10, minimally furnished with a basic bed and dresser, no lamps, pretty cramped. The day bed in the living room is unusual and a strange place to sleep, and the couch is up against the wall facing the front door..to sit with friends and talk, or to watch the tv, requires rearranging furniture. These are observations I would have liked understanding prior to booking but its a gamble evry time. If those items don't bother you then all good. For a quick sleep, it's OK, but for aesthetic appeal and relaxation, it was definitely not for me.

The house was excellent! The check in process was easy and we found everything according to the pictures and description online. We were very pleased to see the house fully stocked with everything that we needed for our stay, even chocolate bars on the counter. Kitchen had everything you could need to prepare a full meal. Rooms were big and bathrooms were updated and very clean. Love the full size washer and dryer.

The place was great. My girlfriend and I loved it. It was relatively clean however there are a few things I’d like to mention as suggestions for future improvements.1. The fridge was set to 47 degrees which is much too low. Typically a refrigerator should be set to at minimum 37 degrees to ensure food safety. I had to turn it down and set it myself. Not an issue by any means just a suggestion. 2. The floors were clean from first glance but once I checked underneath the beds I saw that they had not been cleaned in quite some time. There was even a sock from someone who stays there prior underneath the bed to the left of the half bathroom. 3. The dishwasher is missing an entire left wheel assembly. When attempting to roll out the bottom rack it falls due to the missing parts. 4. The shower head is in an odd position, when you use the secondary nozzle it sprays directly at the glass siding and due to the incomplete caulking on the bottom seal the water tends to leak out into the floor. 5. I attempted to use some glassware, however the Pyrex glassware was not only dirty it smelled as if it had not been cleaned at all. I would absolutely stay here again. The host was helpful and respected our privacy.

Great location to venture out in your car to explore the many surrounding sites - Redwoods state park so very close by, and Santa Cruz and Capitola beaches within 30 min drive. It would have been nice to know if there were any hiking trails that we could access without getting in the car. Also, a couple of us had to work during the stay, and for those the furniture was a little lacking. No indoor dining room table to work from was a little challenging, but the wifi was good and strong so that was a plus. The kitchen appliances and supplies were outstanding, and thank you for the ample supply of spices, cooking oils, tea and coffee... wonderful!

Rooms were clean. Small, but nice. Only downfall is closets are locked and no place for luggage. It makes for a messy bedroom if you’re staying for more than a couple days. We stayed 4 nights.The deck was awesome and where we spent most evenings.

Very clean and well appointed cottage in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is better stocked with utensils and cookware than many people's home kitchens. Discovered a small hiccup with the plumbing that required contacting hosts--Verbo's platform made it challenging to get in touch with them in a timely way but it was eventually worked around.

Amazing property with full amenities, cute beach decor and nestled in redwoods. Very comfortable and quiet, lots of nature, but also within short driving distance to Santa Cruz and multiple attractions including The Mystery Spot, Henry Cowell state park (giant costal redwoods), Roraing Camp Railroads and more. Host was quick to respond to any questions, provided easy instructions and suggestions on area attractions. Overall wonderful stay, will probably stay there again.

Loved this cute little cabin - Very modern inside and is fully stocked for cooking, cleaning, etc. Close to Felton and easy to get to Santa Cruz. Beautiful surrounding! The communication was great as well. Rooms are small and beds could use a slight upgrade but other than that, super great.

We loved this little house in the redwoods with a patio overlooking the river

We loved this little house, great location, clean recently renovated. The patio area in the middle of a grove of redwood trees overlooking the river was very nice. The main road there which was at least 300 feet away from the house still generated some noise when you were outside, but not noticeable inside.
