Access the tidal island by either walking the Pilgrim’s Way across the sands or crossing the causeway. Popular Bamburgh (11 miles) offers a wealth of places to eat and drink as well as a golden beach and a landmark castle, providing a fascinating insight into the region’s history. Alternatively, head inland to the Ford and Etal Estate to explore Etal Castle, ride on the light railway, or discover the mill complex (all within 10 miles).

Step up onto the wraparound decking of this wood-clad lodge, and before you head inside, take a moment to appreciate its peaceful position surrounded by greenery. Enter the property and uncover a welcoming open-plan living space with wood-panelled walls, curved ceilings and plenty of natural light flowing through the windows.
