Great pool, great location

Overall, this was a great hotel and I would definitely return. Updated, free breakfast, nice rooms, and awesome location. The staff was super friendly! The only drawback was the bathroom could have been cleaned better. More specifically, the shower and sink had some mildew, and there were a couple hairs in the bathroom. Not deal breakers, but not 5 star clean either. The rest of the stay was lovely and the staff was fantastic.

Just blocks from the ocean, the location is unbeatable—The rooms were spotless and thoughtfully equipped with cozy touches like a microwave, fridge, and flatscreen TV. Bonus points for the fresh cookies at check-in and the complimentary breakfast that actually hit the spot. We loved the little perks—welcome cocktails in the fridge and discounts at nearby restaurants. It’s clear this place was designed by beach lovers for beach lovers. If you’re looking for a laid-back, family-friendly stay with just the right amount of charm, Hotel Bethany Beach is a solid pick.

I chose this hotel bc the photos showed that this is a resort on the beach. Turns out the photos are of the sister property. I am paying 500 per night for what looks like a holiday in off the highway. Just really poor value for the money and extremely misleading if not downright dishonest advertising. The pool is a tiny home pool surrounded by chain link fence and they charge you 15 per towel. Will never book here again. Feel completely hoodwinked. This is not a resort - that would be a laughable description.

This was an amazing spot for a family beach getaway. Just minutes from Bethany beach. You can walk or shuttle to the beach. Great breakfast selections. Friendly staff. In room service was great. Overall excellent experience for a family of 10!

We liked the location of the hotel and that it is dog friendly. Our room was nice but there were long hairs on the bathroom walls. Also $25/ night for parking is a little too much in my opinion. The breakfast was pretty good.

Decent Despite the hotel’s convenient location and a decent pool, my overall stay was deeply disappointing and frustrating. Right off the bat, the added fees felt excessive and misleading. A $25 nightly parking surcharge and a $25 daily housecleaning fee (if you wanted the service) left me feeling like the hotel was more interested in squeezing guests for every dollar than providing a quality experience. The room itself had an adjoining door to the neighboring unit, which made it nearly impossible to relax. You could hear everything from the next room—loud barking dog, TV noise, full conversations, and even more intimate moments. It completely undermined any sense of privacy or comfort. To make matters worse, getting extra towels required a trip to the front desk instead of a simple call or in-room service. For a hotel at this price point, that level of service is well below expectations. In short, while the location and pool were good and the staff friendly, I felt the fees, poor sound insulation, and lack of basic conveniences made this a stay I won’t be repeating. I would not recommend this hotel and I won’t be returning.

Loved our stay here. Room is large, clean and comfortable. Janis, at the desk was welcoming and helpful. There are some nice extras including an umbrella and chairs, waiting for you on the beach. Walk to the beach or a bit longer to the village. You could manage here without a car.

Good hotel, overall a little overpriced. We had a nice stay. The room was clean, worn-in but comfortable. Air conditioning & WiFi worked well. Appreciated having a well working mini fridge and microwave in our room. They charge $25/night for parking which isn’t unusual for a hotel except it’s pretty necessary to have a car just to be at the hotel and there isn’t another option to park nearby. It’s just an up-charge tacked on for the busy season, I would rather have it rolled into the daily rate as it’s pretty unavoidable and leaves you feeling a little swindled. They offered a lot of nice perks like 2 free vouchers for mini golf next door, 2 free beach chairs & 1 parasol rental, botanical garden vouchers, 2 complimentary cans of alcoholic beverage as well as a discount for the seafood house right next door. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was so-so. Between the distance from beach & additional parking fee, I found the hotel to be on the pricey side for what you get. The vouchers for perks were appreciated but I wouldn’t say they offset the overall value.

Great service and ammenties

My partner and I wanted to take a weekend trip to Bethany without having to shell out a bunch for renting a house. The hotel was a bit further from the beach than intially expected, but the walk wasn't bad at all. The staff let us check in early and park at the hotel since we arrived way before check in. Room came with vouchers for 2 chairs and an umbrella which was very nice as we didnt have to lug our chairs with us. It also came with 2 Orange Smash drinks which were good too (just make sure to give them a shake before drinking!) And free mini golfing next door which was fun to kill time with. The pool was very clean and not over- chlorinated and there was a nice cute pond on the property. Definitely would stay here again next year.
