Big Bear Cabin in the Pines: 2 Kings, Fireplace, Fenced Yard

Majestic Pines is a three-bedroom home set among tall pines on the quiet side of Big Bear Lake, under a mile from Snow Summit. The Snow Summit shuttle lot is a short walk from the door, so on a busy ski day the car can stay in the driveway.

The open great room is the center of the house: a wood-burning fireplace in a floor-to-ceiling river-rock surround, comfortable seating, a smart TV, and a record player, opening straight onto the back deck. The full kitchen runs right off it, with a stove and oven, French-door refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, kettle, and a coffee station, and a dining table that seats six.

The bedrooms are built for two couples traveling together or a family: a king in the master, a second king in the guest room, and a third room with two twin beds. The master has its own bathroom with a jetted corner soaking tub. The second King and the twin room share a full bath, and there is a powder room besides. Out back, a multi-level wood deck was built around the pines rather than clearing them, so the trunks come up through the boards. It steps down to a large, fully fenced lawn with room for kids and dogs to run, and there is a dining table for four out on the boards.

A few honest notes so the stay is easy. The setting here is the pines and the deck, not a lake or slope view, and neighbors sit close on several sides, so this is a connected base close to the mountain. Parking is the driveway only, three vehicles, with no street parking permitted. There is no hot tub and no BBQ on site. The main bath does have a jetted corner soaking tub. Big Bear is bear country, so food and trash stay indoors, and mountain roads can call for chains or all-wheel drive in winter.
