There was a very strong musty smell in the room that was quite overwhelming. The base of the beds were ripped and torn. This conditioned was clearly visible when entering the room and because of the way the beds were made up. It felt very shabby and not well maintained. The refrigerator also looked like it had been dragged behind a car for about 10 miles.

Staff was very friendly, check-in was easy and the property is both relatively near and set back from the main road. The mattresses were comfortable. The hvac in the room was quite loud and not cooling enough to bring the temp down to 70. The bathroom grout had a lot of red mold, and the bathroom floor had oily/sticky residue on it.

We had a wonderful time. The Staff were all so nice. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel. We enjoyed Gardendale and visited a few stores. There are numerous places to eat.

How did it get such a great rating?

Very poorly maintained property. Stained furniture, soiled walls, furry substance growing in AC vent, and mold growing on anti-slip mat for the shower. Parking lot in poor shape, pot holes and broken asphalt.

It wasn’t bad

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Beds were reasonably comfortable and the continental breakfast was a plus. Cosmetic issues such as tattered bed frames, peeling paint, stains on walls, and the jerry rigged shower rod (by way of cotton swabs wedged between the wall and rod) made the cost of the stay a little overpriced in my opinion.

They call full size beds queen i said something and they said all our queen size beds are 54x75 and i said you need to do your homework queen size beds are 60x80 the wife was complaining about the bed being to small

The room was dirty. Walls were dirty and had dried food items on them. The hallways was loud till 2 am. Bed was very uncomfortable. Hallway walls were dirty as well. They offered free breakfast but with the way the hotel looked there was no way we were eating here. Upon check out the clerk was inattentive, never asked how our stay was or anything. I would not recommend staying here.

Mediocre hotel conditions

Front clerk working 11-7am was a friendly, helpful and attentive. Front day clerk was rude, not helpful and used a nasty tone when my husband inquired about pool and using outside tables. We needed to shorten our stay due to a family matter and she couldn’t help but referred us to the third party we booked it through. We contacted them, they in turn had to contact the hotel, day clerk refused to let us cancel the one day for a refund per he Hotel.com agent. We will never stay at your facility again.
