Summary:
A Private Prairie-Style Architectural Retreat
Nestled among two secluded acres of mature forest in the Appalachian Highlands of Western Maryland, Fleur de Montagna is an award-worthy architectural retreat inspired by the timeless philosophy of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie School.
More than a vacation rental, Fleur de Montagna offers an immersive experience where architecture, nature, and quiet luxury exist in perfect harmony.
Originally conceived by architect John H. "Jack" Heyl—an apprentice and longtime contributor to Fallingwater—the home embraces Wright's principles of organic architecture through sweeping horizontal lines, handcrafted art glass, rich Mission-style furnishings, natural materials, and expansive windows that dissolve the boundary between indoors and the surrounding woodland.
As an Official Lodging Partner of Fallingwater, your stay extends the architectural journey beyond the museum experience while supporting the preservation of one of America's greatest architectural treasures.
Whether enjoying morning coffee beneath the covered porch, reading beside the fire, or gathering under the stars around the outdoor fire pit, every space has been thoughtfully designed to encourage rest, reflection, and connection with nature.
Perfect for couples, architecture enthusiasts, artists, photographers, and discerning travelers seeking an authentic mountain retreat, Fleur de Montagna comfortably accommodates up to four guests in an atmosphere of exceptional privacy and tranquility.
