We were looking for a place for 6 close to the Syracuse area (with all local hotels being sold out for family weekend). This house was a perfect choice. It was about a 20-25 minute ride from campus, located in a very quiet neighborhood right on Oneida Lake. Extremely picturesque setting, with great views of the lake and a perfect vantage point for watching the sunrise. The house itself is configured as two potential rentals with an upstairs and downstairs each complete with a full kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, and large living and dining room areas. Each also has a back porch (though of course the upper one is smaller, with the bottom being the full deck with access to the hot tub, fire pit, and grill. While we didn't use any of those, it was nice that the options were there).The kitchen areas were well stocked with supplies, all the appliances worked as one would expect, and the bathrooms were clean and functional. The bedrooms were good sized and the beds comfortable. Rooms were quiet, with little to no outside noise. The main bedroom in the downstairs was somewhat tall, which posed a challenge for my 70 year old mother to get into/out of, but it was easier than using the stairs up/down to the top apartment. The second bedroom on the first floor has a bunk, with a larger full-size bed underneath, and a smaller twin on top. Would 100% rent this again for future journeys to SU.
