Grand Victorian Home, Swim Spa, Garden & Parking
Summary:
This grand Victorian home, dating from 1875, has been beautifully updated to combine period elegance with modern comfort. Featuring spacious living areas, a stunning kitchen diner with Aga & bright sunroom opening onto a private walled garden with patio and swim spa. Sleeping up to 10 across four generous bedrooms, benefitting from one ensuite, a family bathroom and two WCs. Ample off-road parking and a convenient village-centre location make it ideal for family gatherings and group getaways.
The Space:
Maplehurst is a magnificent Victorian residence dating from 1875, offering an exceptional blend of period elegance and modern luxury. Beautifully modernised throughout, the property retains many original features, including high ceilings, ornate coving, ceiling roses, Victorian floor tiles and the original staircase, creating a home full of character and charm.
Designed with families and groups in mind, the spacious ground floor offers multiple areas to relax and socialise. Two interconnecting reception rooms provide flexibility, with one featuring large comfortable sofas and a smart TV, while the other centres around a beautiful baby grand piano. The impressive kitchen diner is the heart of the home, complete with a traditional Aga, generous central island and a large dining table seating up to ten guests. Fully equipped with everything needed for entertaining, it is ideal for memorable meals together.
Leading directly from the kitchen is a stunning sunroom with expansive bi-fold doors that create a seamless connection between indoors and out. Fully open them up and enjoy true indoor-outdoor living, with access to the private walled garden. Here you'll find a large patio, outdoor dining area for ten, BBQ, outdoor kitchen and a fantastic swim spa. If you are not familiar, a swim spa bridges the gap between a pool and hot tub. With hot tub temperatures, jets and a current you can activate to swim against! Perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Somerset.
Upstairs, four generous bedrooms comfortably accommodate larger groups. The luxurious master suite features a super-king bed, a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite shower room. Two further bedrooms offer super-king beds, while the fourth is equipped with four single beds, making it ideal for children or younger guests. A spacious family bathroom with a roll-top bath and a walk-in shower serves the remaining bedrooms.
Families are well catered for with a travel cot and high chair provided. Plus, a separate utility room adds further convenience for families and walkers. Each bedroom is also fitted with a dressing table-come-desk for remote workers. You'll enjoy high-speed fibre broadband too.
The property also benefits from ample off-road parking, an outdoor socket suitable for EV charging, and a convenient location in the heart of the village, making Maplehurst the perfect base for a memorable group getaway.
