The Los Cabos Municipal Government charges all visitors an "Environmental Sanitation Fee" of 38 pesos per room, per night (approximately $2 USD). The fee will be used exclusively for improving the quality of life in the working-class neighborhoods of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, in projects like beach cleaning, water treatment, waste collection, coastal wetland management, reforestation, and other sustainable programs. These governmental fees are collected by the resort and are mandated by the local government.
