We had an amazing time at Villa del Palmar and would consider returning. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff was fantastic. The food was also great - we didn't have a single bad meal. There was construction going on, which presented a minor inconvenience when walking around. The wifi was weak at best.

They had active construction going on during our stay to one of the beach front restaurants. This was not mentioned or discussed anywhere in the hotel’s information section or when booking. There were active bull dozers and you could clearly hear the banging of the construction when sitting on the beach or at both pools. While this didn’t ruin our stay, it was something we would have appreciated knowing before hand. I’m not sure when the construction is planned to be completed but I do know they were about in the middle of their project. The access to the beach is easy and direct. Perfect and clear for snorkeling & swimming.

They did not mention any of the construction that was going on at the time, which progressively got worse through the week. We also paid for a room with 2 queen beds with an ocean view, but we only had 1 queen bed and a very obstructed ocean view that prevented us from seeing... There were minor issues with the room, such as the handle on the balcony door being broken off and the screen door constantly falling off its track. We were unable to get a new room upon request at the resort which we did not appreciate considering what we paid for.

Hotel was under construction and it was a nightmare dealing with the front desk and Hotel was not accommodating. Had to put up a big stink for them to acknowledge that they should have warned us prior to our arrival and should have offered to reaccommodate us.

*Staff - Excellent *Food - Specialty restaurant was good, but the buffet is absolutely horrible. Frozen juice every morning - cannot drink it. Food bland, boring, and not very healthy. *All-Inclusive - Absolutely terrible. They cannot seem to decide if they want to be an all-inclusive resort or a time share. Drinks are slow to come, and measured out one shot per drink. Practically have to beg for the pool bar to fill a cup - and (unfortunately) I had tipped $10 when I asked for my cup to be filled. Plus, you have to sign a bill for EVERYTHING you eat or drink. It’s all inclusive, why is there a bill? Whoever runs this place knows nothing about AI, and needs to be fired for all the bad at this place. *Couple small pools, never enough chairs. *Grounds clean and well-kept. ***Things they conveniently forget to tell you - this place puts a $550 hold on your credit card, for “incidentals.” It’s all inclusive people, there won’t be a mini bar bill!! I’ve travelled all over the world, extensively in Mexico, and have never had a hold of more that $200. They also charge you a “fee” of roughly $20 per day - at checkout. They don’t tell you this, and Expedia doesn’t tell you. They say it’s a “government tax,” but with no other resorts charging it, this is clearly a lie. *Airport transfer from airport is very reasonably priced. The first driver was horrible, rude, and made the experience terrible. The driver from the resort to the airport was awesome, and was tipped very well.

The resort is still under renovation construction; that little nugget was failed to be mentioned by Expedia. Dump trucks, forklifts, cement trucks, welding, steel erecting, hammering and iron work. Bella California restaurant completely gone and being rebuilt. NEVER during my booking was it stated the resort was under construction with dividing walls erected. Very disappointed in this negligence on Expedia's part to deceive the customer into allowing them to believe that they were booking anything other than a fully operational resort. Shame!

2nd time being here and it has always been a good time new pools are nice and the outdoor esthetics are very cool now. However room was still a little outdated ,always clean and comfortable but wish they remolded that already. Basic WiFi was not good I kept losing connection throughout the resort.

Hotel staff was rude, did not help with issues I had with the AC in our guest room. Front desk agent did not provide a proper breakdown of the property. When asking for help or even asking about getting change for larger bills to tip at the property the concierge looked bothered I asked and just told my wife and I to ask the bellman if they had change by chance. The buffet breakfast never changed during the stay. No one informed us that the property is under construction and the there was only two pools available which had no view of the beach. Overall this place would not be suggested to my of my friends or family members.
