Quiet hotel to return to.

Quiet street, nice neighbourhood easy walking distance to CBD. Large lovely rooms with balconies. Great staff. Secure off-street parking. Local owned. Milk in fridge replenished. Beautiful Papuan art.

Check in was easy with good secure gated free parking to the rear of the hotel. Our room in the second floor was a decent size, however, unlike most of the others it didnt have a balcony. We did ask to move and they replied that the hotel was full. I'm not sure about that as we only saw a few other guests and the balconies didnt look in use. Having travelled half way around the world this was disappointing. On the other hand the bed was large and comfortable. The room has a small fridge, iron, ironing board, kettle with tea and coffee making facilites and a tv. The shower was a good size, but it is fortunate that neither of us are tall people as the shower head is very low! The hotel is within a 5 minute walk to the esplanade and about 15 to the main shopping areas etc. Very central, quiet and safe. The pool area is tiny with 2 sunbeds but still a nice adittion.

Unhygienic waterlogged bathroom. This place requires a visit for the cairns health department. Also very unsavoury area. Many homeless sleepers in the street. Liquor bottles and cigarette butts and litter around the front and entrance. Would recommend just about ANYWHERE else.

If you're in college, this is it

Nope. Absolutely gross. The 2nd star was because the lady at the front desk was very sweet. Holes in the walls, like from someone punching it, dirty floor, the walls looked like someone threw liquids on them and mold on the lamp (didn't know that was possible). AC worked, bed was comfortable, location was good. I stay at a lot of hotels, usually 2 and 3 star, but this was the only one where I actually checked the mattress for bed bugs.
