I saw they great reviews and decided to book this hotel. When i got there it was more run down than in the pictures. The evelvator is sketch and scary, cats run in and out of the hotel. It sounded by many stores but i did not feel safe in the area. The rooms are small and cold despite having a heater. I checked out within 4 hours of staying there. The owner had agreed to refund me and now when expedia contacted him, now he refuses to answer his phone. And i paid for 8 days in a hotel that i spent 4hrs in. Go anywhere but here, spend more money and get what you paid for.

I was so incredibly happy with my stay at Sama Hotel. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff were absolutely brilliant (especially Ali!), so kind and helpful. The location is great, the breakfast is delicious, the rooms are clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable. As a solo female traveller especially, I felt so safe here. It was all perfect. I’ll definitely be staying here whenever I’m in Cairo. 10/10!

The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Rooms are all new and super clean, great soundproof doors on the balconies, since the plaza is very busy and loud, the bed was Fantastic and comfortable. Quick to respond to requests and always with a smile. Would definitely stay there again as it’s quite central to a lot of the monuments to visit, away from the pyramids. Breakfast was served in your room but could be a bit more generous with the portions of fool and falafel :) Thank you everyone at Sama and keep up the great work!

It’s nice place in the middle of everything, very convenient to do shopping many restaurants and cafes,the only thing could be disturbing if you are an early sleeper it is a bit noisy at nigh and the door to the balcony doesn’t have good insulation. Some suggestions: It will be great if they have a hairdryer and extra roll of toilet paper inside the room and they definitely need a sign for the the guests to guide them where they can reach the reception When entering the building there is no sign that the hotel is on the sixth floor, you will be wondering how to find the hotel where.

Honestly its a hidden gem in the heart of downtown cairo . At first i was reluctant to book but than after reading reviews i took the risk and my experience was excelent . its a most clean hotel and fully renovated lovely breakfast no need to take taxi for museum. walk to tons of restaurants and sweet shopes . the hotel entrance is full of nite life restaurant open late. i will revommend to all family and couples .

The staff at Sama truly are the best. They are extremely accommodating and helpful and made the check in process very easy. I forgot some jewelry in my room after checkout and they were very kind enough to hold it for me in the meantime that I could come pick up. Location is super convenient to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was also great and they bring it to your room. Really enjoyed the stay here.

Fine once you’re inside

This place certainly doesn’t have much ‘curb appeal’ and you have to fight through a fast food restaurant to get to the hotel door, but the room was clean and spacious and service is great.

Great Budget Hotel in Downtown

This is a great budget hotel in downtown Cairo. Staff is incredibly friendly. Best part of the hotel for sure. It is on the 5th and 6th floor of a building so intially you need to climb some stairs. The elevator does work but you need a fob for it. Rooms are nicely renovated too. If you’re traveling solo or on a budget this is a great hotel.

We had a great stay at Sama Hotel. The breakfasts were great, even though you have to eat in the room. The bedding, towels, etc are excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our room being a smoking room the first night, but they corrected the issue and were apologetic. The area is fantastic and it's a very fun walk to Tahrir Square. Very central with a lot of activity around the hotel. The elevator and stairs up to the 6th floor are old, sketchy and not taken care of, but 1) do not reflect the hotel and 2) are safe and do the job. We're so glad we moved downtown from Giza to get a different picture of day to day Egyptian life. Sama Hotel is highly recommended.

I love the staff the best. The were all smiling and pleasant and willing to do whatever we needed to make our stay pleasant. It is within walking distance to shopping and food. I would recommend this place if you are on a low budget.

This is a nice affordable hotel located in the heart of downtown, close to Tahrir Square. While the exterior of the hotel appears old and worn, the rooms are newly furnished and quite appealing. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is served each morning, featuring delicious Egyptian cuisine. The hotel is conveniently located, with easy access to the city, and the Egyptian Museum is just a short walk away. The staff, especially Ali and Karim, were excellent and extremely helpful. However, I recommend not booking any tours through the hotel, as they are overpriced and the guides seem rushed. For a better experience, consider booking through platforms like Viator or Expedia. I do not want to reduce any stars for this as it is optional and I just took a tour from them.
