Pictures were very misleading. Room was gross. Couldn’t even use shower because drain was discharging hair and other gross matter. Will never stay here again.

Spent a weekend in town visiting SIU - the entire time there was no one at the front desk! Instead you are greated by a KIOSK. No surveillance at the front door and an old broken dusty air conditioner as soon as you walk in. As soon as you walk in the humidity and smell are overpowering and the room was even worse. We ended up having to go buy linen and towels as we found several bugs thru out the room. The windows were filthy and the curtains stained with could have been mold or really bad stains! We ended up leaving after the first night and will never be back when visiting our child at school. Needs a lot of minimal work but I guess you get what you pay for.

I had a fantastic stay at the University Inn of Carbondale! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and had everything I needed. The location was perfect, and the breakfast buffet? Delicious.

Worse place ive ever stayed in!!! No hot water, the tub wouldn't drain and the toilet seat was broken, no breakfast and no people around to help with anything! I will never stay here again! I have picture and video and it will not let me add it where it says add photos of your stay

Not worth your money.

Hotel in perpetual state of disrepair. Holes in the wall, spots needing touch up paint, water damaged wood. Check in was done through a kiosk with a person on camera. Very difficult to understand him. Breakfast was limited to cereal and toast. Stained sheets. Broken window. Spend your money elsewhere.

Filthy , Nasty , Disgusting , and So So Terrible! Rude Staff . No Customer Service. No One Was Ever At The Front Desk. No Cleanliness At All. The Most Filthiest Hotel I Have EVER Experienced! The HEAVY Smoke Smell, The Dead Bugs On The Floors & The Walls! There Were Fingernails, Toenails, Hair, and Other Things On The Bed, The Floors, The Darn Bathroom Was So Filthy! The Tub, Toilet, And Vanity Was So Filthy. I Couldn't Sleep In This Hole. The Screen Was Missing From The Window. The Air Conditioner Was Filthy As Well As 1/2 Way Broken! So Much Noise From It And The Neighbors Together Was Crazy! No Clean Blankets! I KNOW They Did Not Change The Sheets! Poop Was Present On The Toilet! The Staff On The Computer Were So Bad & Rude! Negative 1,000 / 10 Would NOT RECOMMEND!

The rooms are old and outdated, needs to be renovated, Overall I would give it a 6/10, however you get what you pay for. The front desk attendant Jack was very nice and knowledgeable, the maintenance guy was very nice

Dirty and disgusting, room was extremely hot and AC was broken, people fighting in the parking lot, super high pet fees will surprise you at check in. Enjoy your stay at trash hole city motel!!

Hard to Beat the Price

The price here remains a great value. The rest still needs work, but i do think they are trying. The individuals operating the check-in kiosk, for example, seemed more friendly than last time. The area behind the hotel (my room faced that direction), however, needs a major clean-up. I will continue to patronize the place given the value/effort
