All the staff we interacted with were excellent. The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was tasty and the bar was great. The stay was very good value for money. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I was in Newport.

Hotel is amazing but reception a bit poor

We were in Wales for a funeral, quite a few rooms booked in total. I booked and paid for 3 rooms and when we left you charged me for a room saying it was outstanding but you had actually put my son in my brother in laws room who hadn’t paid yet. I had no time to argue as my Uber was waiting.

I liked the seamless check in and check out process. I also liked the body, shampoo & hand wash & the perfect nights sleep in the very comfortable bed. I felt safe with the camera in the lift and the scanning of your room card to activate the lift. Sitting in the sun in the roof top bar was wonderful and when I ordered my evening meal it arrived in a short space of time and was very tasty. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I was actually super impressed with the hotel, room and time spent at the hotel on my recent stay. And I can confidently say that I’ll be back to stay here in the future. Close to both the station and town it’s perfectly located. I had a great view as well. And the room was clean and comfortable. The friendliness of the staff was also great. In terms of improvement I would suggest putting chains on the doors. I understand that the door is secure and can be locked from the inside. But there’s a psychological component of a physical chain that feels more secure. I’d also love some veggie options included in the breakfast. Some veggie sausages and mushrooms would be a great addition.

This hotel is excellent. The family rooms were perfect and very well equipped and spacious. Spotlessly clean, with everything you need and more. The food was delicious and the breakfast buffet fabulous. I have to say all of the staff we encountered, from our arrival at the reception, restaurant on the evening, cleaner we met on the lift and breakfast staff made us feel so valued and welcomed. We arrived at 6pm and headed off to look for cheaper food options. The area was not the nicest. Lots of teenagers, drunken people shouting, swearing and throwing glass bottles at cars passing and the two places we went to eat in didn't except children on an evening, even the Weather spoons. So, we headed back to the hotel and had a gorgeous meal if not a little overpriced but at least we felt safe. Overall, would 100% recommend the hotel as long as you don't leave it after the shops shut up l. Daytime the area was fine around the Friars shopping centre and the carpark at the centre was ideal and good value for money to park overnight. Thankyou to all the staff for making this hotel such a perfect place.
