We loved this cottage! My husband was stationed in Charleston over 30 years ago and this was his first time back. During my search for lodging, I was hoping to find a small quaint home with a genuine old school Charleston feel. Maybe a screened porch and a swing (hammock). This cottage had it all! The amenities are as described, A/C, heat worked well, W/D included and was very nice and practical. The bathroom shower is amazing! Convenient location to town and local spots. Great getaway!

We had a fantastic stay at Folly A Duex. We chose to stay here while in Charleston for a medical conference instead of starting in a pricey hotel. It was a great choice. What an amazing place of respite for the soul. The property is just as described and has everything that one would need. The screened porch is unmatched in serenity and comfort. It was wonderful to sit on the porch in the morning and listen to the birds. The property was very quiet even though you are on the same property as the owner's property. You still feel like you are secluded. The owners were very responsive. Fortunately we had no issues but they would have been available if we had we needed them. The bed was comfortable. We will definitely plan to stay here again next time we are in the area.

What a great place. We loved the screened in porch with the beautiful view. The hosts are great folks and responsive. Location is a safe neighborhood and close to Charleston and the beach. The park pass saved us and gave us access to many places.

One of the best, if not the best equipped, laid out, decorated, pastoral properties we’ve stayed at.Immaculate, everything worked, amazing shower, clothing storage. And a few things like luggage rack and full length mirror that I love to have but have ceased to expect. We’ll be back!

This was the perfect place for me. I was in town for a few days to take a class and needed a home base for the evenings. This little guest house was perfect. The kitchen had everything I needed, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was fantastic. The shower massage jets were great on my back after a long day of wood turning! The host and owners were quickly responsive when I had a question about the wifi and they even offered to let me extend my stay when a winter storm threatened to cancel my flight. I would definitely stay again next time I'm in the area!!

Our Host was wonderful and always got back to me quickly when I had a question. She knew we would be late getting in so she made sure there were lights on inside so we wouldnt be arriving to a dark house. The little touches make the biggest difference. The house had everything we could need. The bed was so comfortable, and the shower was heavenly!

Everything about the bungalow was wonderful. I was seeking a peaceful relaxing home and the bungalow provided that. The enclosed patio was nice to eat breakfast and read my book. The bed was extremely comfortable, there were many cozy blankets to keep warm which was greatly appreciated. The layout was great and all you needed was there including laundry and the shower was great! Getting around was easy, I utilized Lyft and got to experience downtown, mt pleasant, and folly. 10/10 recommend coming to the bungalow if you’re in town, you won’t be disappointed.

This was a lovely little bungalow. That was just perfect for the two of us for a long weekend while we were in town for our grandson’s soccer tournament. Our hosts were amazing and their backyard is like a little fairy land. The bungalow had everything we needed And the screen porch was especially delightful! The bed was comfortable, the shower was amazing and we were able to access all of our streaming services on the smart TV. The kitchen was well equipped, and even had basic condiments, coffee, filters, olive oil, sugar, etc.

This was our second stay in under a year at the James Island bungalow, and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first time. Very quiet, comfortably furnished, and with all the amenities that a couple could need, the bungalow is conveniently located for events at The Citadel, to the sites, galleries, and restaurants in the historic downtown, and to Folly Beach, all with a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. This VRBO will continue to a go-to place for us in the future.

Everything in the VRBO description is spot on. The pictures shown are exact, except the couch in the porch was different, but comfortable. The quiet surroundings, the gorgeous landscape, the quaint little spots to sit around. We didn't make a fire or use the BBQ or outdoor shower, but they were there and ready for use, just as described. We did spend our evenings in the screened in porch to decompress and relax after busy days exploring the Charleston area. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom shower was great (rain shower, massage setting, etc.). We used the park pass that was included when we went to Folly Beach. We did a lot of exploring and having a vehicle is helpful, but this VRBO was centrally located, so it took about the same time to get anywhere we wanted to go. When you go, make sure to check out Folly Beach, Boone Hall Plantation, Palmetto Carriage tours, Patriot's Point Naval Museum, Fort Sumter, the Angel Oak Tree, Waterfront Park, White Point Garden, Charleston City Market, King Street in Charleston for all kinds of shopping and food (Halls Chophouse, Millers All Day, Carmella's, and 82 Queen were our 5 Stars places to eat). There is a lot to see and do. We'll be back!

Perfection

We basically had our own small house on the property with a separate driveway. Thigh the main house was right there you didn't notice with all the landscaping. A nice bed, open kitchen/living room and a separate bathroom with a washer and dryer which is awesome for multiple trips to the beach. Screened. In porch was nice but it was well over 115 degrees at times with the heat index so we utilized it more in the evenings. We did happen to briefly meet the owners one evening to say hi and were told to immediately let them know if we needed anything. Perfect for a couple as it only has one bed but I'd recommend all day.
