The Vendue made the money you spend on your room worth it in many ways. The staff communicates with you every day and offers additional perks such as a daily art tour, special tastings, glasses of champagne/prosecco, and milk and cookies each day. We used the complimentary bikes one day to explore the city and had a great time. Our room was cleaned every day and towels replaced at least once per day. The artwork in the hotel was fascinating and the location could not be better. We were right on the waterfront! You can walk to anything in the downtown area from the Vendue. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Charleston!

Great location with excellent customer service. They check on you even before you arrive. Location is great for downtown Charleston. They have afternoon art tours in the hotel and a nice rooftop bar.

Missed the mark

When we arrived to the property, the hospitality was great, however when we arrived to our to our room there was a dirty/used bath towel on the back of the bathroom door and one dirty hand towel on the bath towel rack across from the shower. There was also missing amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, and shower gel. Aside from that, it was a lovely stay.

A unique "art museum" hotel set in historic buildings in colonial Charleston, the Vendue offers a mix of great experiences and significant challenges. The price you pay for the historic location, excellent service, rooftop bar and quality restaurant includes significant challenges to mobility-impaired customers. The uneven floors, steep staircases and lack of railings can make it difficult to move around the property for some unaware customers.

What a gem! They offer valet but we parked our car in the public parking garage one block away for our entire stay. We walked to our walking tour, breakfast spots, Fleet's Landing for dinner and had drinks on their rooftop patio. The staff was helpful, beds and pillows were comfortable, room was quiet, fruit and water available during the day. I would definitely stay here again.
