We tried the Riu Rooftop bar and it was lovely. The buffet breakfast was great. However, the weekend start time was a bit late compared to weekday. We had to check out at 7:15 and missed it. Hotel staff did not allow or offer us a small bag of pastry to go before we check out even though the 3rd person breakfast was charged

Superb location. In the middle of the Magnificent Mile, within the walking distance to the Navy Pier and Millennium Park. 15 min drive to major attractions like Lincoln park, Field Museum, Chinatown, etc. Staff are very courteous and professional. Excellent breakfast buffet.

The Hotel was very clean and the rooms were updated. The location is great very walkable and close to public transportation. The staff were not very friendly or helpful. Our biggest complaint would be the host at the breakfast buffet. We sat down for the included buffet breakfast which in itself is very hard to navigate. It’s extremely busy and chaotic. The host scolded me and spoke so rudely to me for leaving with a piece of toast and a piece of fruit. I didn’t really eat at the buffet because I have a medical condition I asked an employee if I could take the little bowl I made with me. He said no problem. I assumed he was a manager by the way he was dressed and how accommodating he was. However the next morning I was so embarrassed by the host. He scolded me again for leaving the day before with food, he just could not let it go m . He said I needed to read the sign pointed to a sign.

We really love this hotel. The only two things were the additional facilities fee which we didn’t know and I’ve never seen before and also there is no ice machine, which is a pain if you are traveling.

Resort vibes in Chi town

Loved the resort vibes of the hotel. Loved the aesthetics and the rooftop. Staff very friendly. Wonderful gym. Made me consider booking a RIU in the Caribbean. My only con was there was no hotel microwave, but you get a mini fridge. Sometimes you can't finish all the great food you have in Chicago, and I couldn't warm it up later. I was able to take some food back with me to Mississippi, the rest I had to discard.
