Hands down THE hotel I will be returning to whenever I come to Chicago. Every staff person is welcoming and kind, the amenities and toiletries provided are top notch, the rooms are large, spacious, the city view from the 12th floor is unbeatable. My favorite is the window nook seating with views towards the river and skyscrapers.

Environmentally aware, elegant hotel

In Chicago for operas and museums. The new L 7 is perfectly located for my needs- close to transportation and restaurants. Room was quiet, newly decorated and conveniently appointed, with USB stations near bed, comfortable bed with great pillows, some exercise equipment, safe, small fridge, Nepresso machine. Every thing worked very well and housekeeping was great, coming in even in late afternoon. I loved the attention to the environment: Cold water in bathroom sink is filtered for safe drinking so the hotel isn’t putting hundreds of plastic bottles in recycling weekly. No plastic or styrofoam cups in the rooms; Crate & Barrel mugs and glass glasses. Signs are wooden, rather than plastic. There’s an excellent coffee machine in the lobby by elevators. Staff is great, especially Ebony, who checked me in and elegant doorman Antonio. I dislike it when doormen try too hard to help me but conversation with Antonio was fun.
