The Sudima is a great choice for a few days in Christchurch. It's a 10 minute walk to downtown and also to the beautiful botanic gardens. Close to coffee shops and restaurants. Our room was large and very, very quiet with nice decor and lots of light. The bed was very comfortable and there was a small kitchenette with supplies for coffee/tea (including decaf instant coffee, which we didn't find at any other hotel/motel that we stayed in during our month-long trip). There was even a flat iron! There's a restaurant downstairs but we didn't try it. The only downsides are that parking is $30/night and while some of the staff were great, others weren't very friendly.
