This magnificent home is strategically situated above the village of Ojochal in an old-growth jungle with the relaxing sound from The Waterfall of Ojochal just down the road. Having the river nearby, along with a wide variety of flowering/fruit/seed plants and trees surrounding the property attracts monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds, macaws, pizotes and sloths throughout the day. Just far enough up the mountain at an altitude of 720 feet, you are perfectly located to experience a slight temperature decrease and light mountain breezes. This altitude also secludes you from the traffic noise from the Ruta 34 highway and massively reduces or eliminates annoying flying insects such as mosquitoes. You are just minutes from the beaches on the South Pacific Coast. Humpbacks from both hemispheres travel thousands of miles to have their calves in this area. There is excellent whale, dolphin, and sea turtle watching. We are a little more than halfway between Manual Antonio, the most popular park in Costa Rica and the famous Osa Peninsula. There is a lot to see and do within a short distance of your home base. National Geographic named our area one of the most bio-diverse areas on the planet. It is a nature lovers dream.

The food, oh the food! The village of Ojochal and the surrounding area offer the best food in Costa Rica and some of the best we have had anywhere. Expats from around the world have settled here and created the culinary capital of Costa Rica. We can recommend multiple restaurants in the area, many of which are just down the hill. The water from the faucet is mountain spring and you can drink it without issue. Forget the plastic bottles.

A full bathroom downstairs is conveniently situated off the kitchen and just steps away from the downstairs primary suite. This suite has large sliding doors which open up to views and access to the outdoor living space & inviting pool. The private casita treats you to a half bath, an enchanting outdoor shower, and even an induction cooktop and refrigerator.

Embrace your inner chef in the thoughtfully designed kitchen, featuring a custom circular bar, all within a captivating open-concept great room. Yet, the true beauty lies outdoors – a haven of covered seating, perfect for gathering loved ones. Dip into the inviting pool adorned with imported Balinese tiles, accompanied by ample seating and a table for refreshing moments.

Ready for beach escapades? We provide you with beach chairs, towels, hammocks, coolers, and boogie boards. A washer and dryer stand at your service, making life easier. The house is easily accessible compared to most mountain homes, however a 4x4 is still recommended. When you turn into Ojochal off the highway, there are paved roads until you reach the bottom of the mountain. Then, it is about a six-minute drive up a rock and dirt road (Calle Cascada) to the house. It is very private, near
the end of the road. A large iron gate will allow you to access the house so you can feel completely secure during your stay. We spent many years visiting Costa Rica to find the perfect home and location, and we are excited to share it with you.
