Fully stocked with kitchenware, linens, & towels!
Queen bed in the bedroom and air mattress available for living room to sleep a total of 5 guests if someone doesn't mind using the sectional couch. Smart tv, high speed internet, large yard and outdoor space.

Enjoy effortless access to the Colorado School of Mines, a fantastic array of local breweries, delicious restaurants, and eclectic shops.

Beyond the immediate charm of Golden, you’re ideally situated for scenic drives to iconic destinations: catch a show at Red Rocks, explore the cultural richness of Denver and Boulder, hit the slopes at nearby ski resorts, try your luck at Black Hawk Casino, or experience the breathtaking beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park. With the airport also within reach, adventure is always just around the corner!

Golden was the first capitol of the Colorado Territory, founded in 1859. Spend a few days, a week, or more as you discover Golden, Colorado, 'Where the West Lives' Nestled at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Golden has something for everyone- nature walks, museums, shopping, skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, fly fishing, riverboarding, amusement park, farmers market, outdoor concerts, art festivals and more! Tours are available at the Coors Brewery as well as at numerous historic sites dating from pioneer days.

Golden is very bike-friendly! Lots of paths and easy to get around. The house is also super walkable to most of Golden's attractions. A car is recommended for trips outside of Golden (ask about our private car service).

Failure to follow house rules (ie: no smoking, check out time, etc.) may result in extra fees or loss of security deposit.

Please be mindful of check-in and especially check out times.
If you are requesting early check-in or late check-out, do make sure to message us to see if this is possible. We will do our best to be accommodating, but communication is key.

Starter supplies are provided; guests are responsible for their own paper/cleaning/toiletries after starter supplies run out.

Super cozy spot!!!!

The beautiful lil gem near downtown Golden was a steal!!! Walking distance to all kinds of shopping and dining. Directly on a walking/Biking trail. The house lives up to its name! It is small but very intimate. All of the old house sounds and feels are there. Hearing the floors creaking brought back oldMemories from childhood. The mini retro Nintendo was the best part for me!!! My wife was in love with the styling of the house. The owner was super attentive and checked on us to make sure everything was good!!! Looking forward to staying again.

Definitely Retro in a good way. Not on the river , but close enough.

If you are looking for a 50’s - 60’s middle class experience, this is the place. I grew up during those years. There are enough elements from that time period to make it Retro… If you go with the experience it’s a fun place.My only complaints. I had difficulty identifying the lock box (there are two entry doors. When I found the correct door. It was difficult to open all the. Way. Not a deal breaker at all. Kinda fit the profile. I grew up in a house that was less desirable than this example.

We enjoyed our stay at this small home. It had a good location and reasonable priced. This home meet our needs while we visited Golden to watch our grandson play baseball at school of the mines.

Great location & house, could use some cleaning

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The location is great, and the accommodations were fine for a solo traveler. Kendra was quick enough to respond to issues. Tiny, but cute and quiet

The location of the retro house made it a great choice for exploring downtown Golden. It was within walking distance if needed or a couple-minute drive. I also appreciated how quiet the neighborhood was. It's on the east side of Golden, which I wasn't familiar with and I was impressed by the lack of noise over there. That being said, it's an older house and it comes with the quirks older buildings have: short door frames, a few drafty areas around the door, which also let bugs in, and some unexpected noises from the plumbing. My husband found himself bonking his head during the night when making trips to the kitchen and bathroom. Kendra was a delight to deal with. She was very communicative about expectations, helpful hints about the house, and how to access the property to park. For the price, I don't think you can beat this property. Having full use of a kitchen, dining room, and separate living and bedroom areas made it far superior to a hotel at the same price point.

Cozy, comfortable, and affordable property in a great location.

The property is promoted as "retro", which is accurate. Perhaps rustic and in need of updating/renovation would also be accurate. Even so, my wife and I found the place to be very comfortable and clean. Perhaps its greatest selling point is its location -a short walk to the center of Golden. If you want/are accustomed to LUX, this is not the place for you. However, the price to value ratio is as good as you can find!

Great Spot

Perfect little house in a great location. My wife and I stayed for one night. Easy to walk the whole downtown area from the house. Coors brewery is right there as well. Cool decorations in the house. Kendra was great as well.

Clean retro cottage with great location

This property was very clean and as described in the listing. It has one window air conditioner in the dining room area. Ceiling fans in the bedroom, living room, and dining area help to distribute the cooler air. This is in a great location walking distance from to downtown Golden.

Retro Visit!

I only give a four because when we were there, it was warmer weather and it took quite sometime to cool the house down. The windows do not open. It is small and the bed is against the wall so if one has to get up in the night….well….that can be a little interesting!! We did not cook there because so close to downtown and the many restaurants. Don’t let the outside deter you! Btw…neighbor is nice too!

Great Location for any Golden visit.

My wife and I were in Golden to visit our son at Mines. This property was in a great location to walk everywhere we needed to go. Kendra was extremely responsive & accommodating thru the entire process. The property was just as it is described. The only thing I would recommend is that tall people might want to stay elsewhere -- the bed was tiny for us who are used to a King Sized bed. I also hit my head on a doorway that was not made for tall people (I am 6'4") but that is certainly not the fault of the property, LOL. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend to anybody who needs a location in Golden that is within walking distance of Mines & downtown area.

First trip to CO

The best thing about the property is its location. We were walking distance from all the restaurants and shops in Golden. Would be a great place for 2 people. There were 4 in our party and we were pretty tight. In all fairness, I had planned for two when I booked the property. I most likely would not book this property again as I prefer more modern amenities.

Kendra was a great host. She was quick to answer and address any questions or concerns we had through our stay. The home is an older house that is in a perfect location for downtown Golden and is steps away from tubing/creek access. It's on the small side so I wouldn't recommend any more than 2 guests at a time. It was clean and well kept but be warned since it is an older home we found a few creepy crawlies along door ways/cracks. Just give your shoes a good shake before wearing them.

Perfect Stay

My 9 year old and I had a wonderful stay for 6 days. The location was fantastic. We could walk so many places. The house was the perfect size. The bed was so comfortable, we relaxed easily in the living room and did a little cooking in the kitchen. The retro theme was fun, too.
