What I liked about the Embassy Suites Des Moines is their staff. They’re very caring. They’re very helpful but the hotel really really needs a renovation. It took us three rooms. When we arrived to not have a room that smelled like smoke, had the air conditioning vent rattling or in one of the rooms one bed was unmade when we arrived. The saltwater pool wad an issue one day, and I just really feel like the hotel just needs a facelift. But we had fun and I will stay again once a renovation has been completed, because the staff is so awesome.

All staff are so personable and friendly! Parking here is $25, but the parking garage across the street is $10. The happy hour they have is so fun and has great snacks and drinks! Pool is a good size too. Rooms are very spacious with a pretty comfy bed!

Nice location, accommodations just ok

This hotel is in a great area of Des Moines with access to so many restaurants and bars just a quick walk away. We have stayed here several times and will probably continue to but it is desperately in need of an update. Also whoever cleans this place doesn’t do a good job at all. Every single corner of edge is dusty, dirty, full of crumbs. The walls are never wiped down at the edges, the corners of the bathroom floors and shower/tubs are not clean at all. We use the pull out bed and when we pulled cushions off the couch were pretty gross. I also hate that they only provide double beds. This is a personal preference but it really makes our nights less comfortable. Bar is decent for a quick drink in the evenings.Breakfast is the best hotel breakfast simply because of the made to order omelettes. Overall it’s an ok spot, I wouldn’t a premium for it though as it wouldn’t be worth it at all.

Property is very dated. Lots of sub par decorations, dirty tile, phones with no cords, old sagging beds, non-working water features. Staff was great. It was an ok experience, but, expected more from this brand.
