We had arrived four hours after our allotted check-in time. The house was not cleaned from the previous guests. Advert photos are not accurate and/or severely outdated. The beds were unwashed and in disarray. Used towels on couch, bed, & floor The garbage cans were still full in the bathrooms. There was animal(?) urine on one if the bedroom rugs. Food in the fridge. Food/oils on the kitchen table. Articles of clothing/towels in the washer. Dog hair on the couch. It was a disgusting mess. We only stuck around to document photos and contact Host Steven & VRBO who said they could not place us in another location. Steven remarked that it was strange that it was not serviced. I was told three different policies by VRBO. 1) The moment I contacted VRBO: VRBO could not place us in another location the first night. Where were we to stay? 2) The next day I was told that VRBO was supposed to accommodate us elsewhere. 3) And later I was told that VRBO would have accommodated us had we booked thirty days in advance.We had booked fifteen days in advance.Driving through the rain, exhausted, we arrived home at 3:30 a.m. Our vacation was ruined. Wasted time, gas, effort and our vacation before sons return to college. This is HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE. After many hours/days on the phone, we finally got our refund.
