Please clean under the beds

I will start with the positives. The Hotel is situated in a beautiful location looking onto Epsom racecourse. Nice big carpark and the hotel it’s self is very up to date with nice decor. I enjoyed the all you can eat cooked breakfast on both days. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The not so positives The twin beds are a bit on the small side. When I moved one of the beds it was really dirty underneath it with an old condom packet. The room was really hot on both nights even though it was 15c outside and the window had been open all day. So we ran the very noisy air conditioning. A very annoying thing was the smoke alarm has a flashing red light and is just above one of the beds.

Advised the receptionist that the shower trap obviously had a restriction due to it’s inability to drain adequately thankfully the shower tray was deep enough so as not to cause a flood

Disappointing

The rooms at Holiday Inn Express are usually small, that's what I know and prepare for when I choose to stay at one of its hotels. However, this one is really small, so small that there this no way for us to take the only one chair out and sit on it. By the way, we didn't manage to sit on it because the chair was simply dirty and sticky. I did show it to a hotel staff but nothing was done after that. The breakfast was fine but the bacon was extremely salty.

Lovely and quiet location, the bar staff were really lovely and helpful. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, only suitable for a small child. You could feel all the bars through a mattress which was only about an inch thick.
