Unique Waterfront Beach House, 1 mile from Friday Harbor

This two-bedroom cottage is just a mile from the town of Friday Harbor but offers a perfect way to get away from it all with a lush back yard that looks out over the ocean with incredible views of Jackson Beach.

San Juan Island is famous for its beaches, and at low tide you can step off the sea wall on the property and walk across to explore to your heart's content.

When you're done with your day, the sound of gently running water outside will lull you to sleep.

Fiber internet connection allows your whole family to work or remote school.

Constructed in 2018, the house is a cozy 1000 square feet with two bedrooms and a high end custom queen wall bed to the side of the living room. Full kitchen, washer, dryer and Internet access are all provided.

The jewel of the space is the views from the living area and bedrooms across Jackson Beach to the south. They're unobstructed and unforgettable.

You'll be located on one of the only saltwater rivers in the western United States, a fascinating natural oddity where fresh water melds with salt and then flows back with the tides.

The house also contains a display of tools and arrowheads found at the nearby archaeological site dating from 2,500 to 5,000 years old.

Other property owners have access to a nearby common areas but the guest yard and beach access is completely private.

I am happy to be available if you have any needs regarding the space, but otherwise you'll be left to your privacy.

Pets are welcome with the following policy:

1. Pets must be in control on the property and stay within the property lines (yard is not enclosed)
2. Pets must do no damage to the house.
3. Pets are not allowed to sleep on the beds as it is often very difficult to ensure every hair is removed.
4. All dog poop must be picked up from the yard, bags are supplied in the dispenser on the back deck.


There is one security camera on the property that covers the parking area and walkway to the front door.

Another great stay at Cannery Row. We saw tons of wildlife (including a silver fox) and enjoyed the peaceful setting on the water. This place is a gem.

We were here for my Mother’s funeral so needed a place close to Jackson Beach. House was very clean. Has 2 bedrooms with I believe queen size beds and one Murphy bed that could sleep 2. Right on the beach. Would recommend

Lovely home right on a small bay by the cannery. We had a great time and even out the murphy bed to good use. The owner was beyond accomodating. A more comfortable couch would be the only suggestion.

Fabulous location

We really enjoyed our stay. We had e bikes and found the ride to the town was great. The ride out to the cattle point light house was a little precarious as the road was very busy and not the best for bikers. We had fun watching the salt river during the tide changes. Overall, a great place

Great Location

Another amazing stay!

This is the second time with have stayed at this beautiful location. The wildlife we saw right from our bedroom windows was amazing!!! Eagles, great blue herons, a couple of loons, kingfishers, numerous water birds, deer, and a couple of foxes too! We brought our kayaks and had a lot of fun paddling right from this property. Highly recommend!!!

The Cannery Row house couldn’t have been better! The location and views were amazing and we enjoyed our mornings and evenings sitting out back watching the birds and sunrises. Island retreat

We traveled to San Juan for a women’s weekend. Our rental was clean and comfortable. There was a seating area next to the bay with a daily visit from a heron, several ducks and flocks of geese. Everyone we encountered on the island was friendly and helpful. The weather was perfect and the island is beautiful. We would definitely return!

My children are world travelers and when we stayed last year several months later I heard them saying our trip to Friday Harbor was the best vacation they ever had. This was mostly because of this house and it’s amazing location. So many cool things to do and see literally right out the back door.

Our second stay here

Another wonderful family vacation in Nigel's San Juan Island house! The waterfront wildlife did not disappoint (again) with eagles, ospreys and a seal making a close up appearance! Communication was spot on and any questions were quickly answered. Thanks again!

Wonderful

The location is perfect. From the back porch we saw eagles, seals, and otters. If you are a runner, you can loop out from the house, around the point, for a beautiful 5 mile run. The house is basic but very clean and well stocked. We ran out of dishwasher pods and Nigel dropped them off almost immediately upon receiving our text. My husband absolutely loved Vangoughs pizza, if you are looking for an easy dinner. We had a great time and we're sad to go!
