Location and beach access are good. The photos posted online make the house seem much larger than it is. Very few amenities available at the house (no beach towels or chairs etc) and water damage/ mildew above the living room window but worst of all was a German cockroach infestation. They offered to spray the house while we were there but with such a short stay it wouldn’t have made a difference for this visit. I’m assuming that is being taken care of but I’m done with beachbox properties.

LOCATION HAS ROACHES. The residence is in a very nice area, walking distance to the beach. However, the cleanliness of the residence is horrid. There was old food that we found under the couch and many, many roaches and baby roaches were found throughout the kitchen, living area, and 1 of the bedrooms. Management was contacted about this and their only offer was to send maintenance who would have only been able to spray. Which does not eliminate all roaches from my 2 day stay. I was told that the homeowner would be contacted in regard to this matter but management has failed to update me thus far. Very unsatisfied with the stay.

It was good. Great location. Beach was not crowded at all and can walk to the beach. Smaller than I thought and there was no place for us to all sit together and play games. It sleeps a lot of people comfortably. The whole house swayed and rocked a little in those stilts but was ok.

4th of July

6 adults and 2 children fit nicely in the home. Excellent location, both to the beach and conveniences. House was well stocked with shower towels as well as every kitchen utensil needed. House was very clean overall. We did have to reach out to the management company during our stay (unrelated to the home itself) and they immediatly replied and handle the issue. Overall we will look to rent this house again for future island visits.

We stayed a night after coming back from a cruise. There was 6 of us (3 under 12) and we had a wonderful time! Beach access wqs was great and we roasted marshmallows in the fire pit! Our family had an amazing stay. Thank you!

pleasantly surprised!

I am notoriously picky but really had a wonderful time and would stay here again. The property management company does a great job and the house was very clean. The location is perfect - West End but not so far out that it's still convenient to eat along Seawall and get to Randall's to shop and grab a Starbucks. Really enjoyed walking along the nearby beach and the next neighborhood has a nice walking path as well. House is cozy and comfortable - big TV and comfortable couch. The kitchen is nicely stocked and I was able to make a dessert.

Charming Beach Retreat

Amazing cottage in a beautiful location with easy access to beach only a short walk away. Perfect for a vacation getaway, setup nicely with all of the ammenities. Historic Galveston, Pleasure Pier and other attractions are only a short drive away. Highly recommend!!!

Nice quaint cottage, close to the beach

This single floor cottage was nice and as good as advertised for our short stay. We felt pretty packed in, but no major issues. Good communication with the owner and close proximity to the beach were major plusses. Definitely worth it for the price.

Everything was great! Only issue was lack of hot water for bathtub/shower. This house does not supply items for going out on the beach even though beach box management list that they do for their rentals. Over all great dependable place.

Rats, and Beach Box doesn't care.

We checked in for a seven-night stay but left after just two nights. On the second morning, we discovered rat droppings in the kitchen and living room. I immediately contacted Beach Box and sent photos.  Their only solution was to set up traps—an unacceptable response. I was not willing to expose my family to rats, even with traps in place, nor did I want young children around rat traps.  Despite managing many properties, there was no offer to move us to a rat-free property or any sort of refund. Beach Box left us on our own to find alternative accommodations that cost considerably more last minute. After raising my concerns, Beach Box went silent for a considerable amount of time, forcing me to chase them for a resolution. In the end, there was none. After about a week of persistent follow-ups, Beach Box finally offered a mere 120 refund for the five unused nights—completely unreasonable. VRBO informed me that, since Beach Box uses its own billing system rather than VRBO’s, my only recourse was to dispute the charge with my credit card company.Do your due diligence, look Beach Box up on Google, check out their Yelp reviews and their standing with the Galveston Better Business Bureau. Decide for yourself if this is where you want to spend your hard earned money and a risk you are willing to take.
