We enjoyed the hospitality of the front desk and the restaurant workers. We had several nice breakfasts and a tasty dinner at the hotel restaruant, which seems to bring in locals. Although the Huntsman Inn is a bit of a walk to the Latin Quarter, we enjoyed our walks to and from. If you have a car, the parking lot will be useful.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Bathroom had a separate tub and shower. The room was very quiet. It’s a short walk to the Latin Quarter. We ate at McSwiggan’s our first evening. Very good. We ate dinner one night downstairs in the restaurant. Food was great, service was a bit slow, but we weren’t in a rush.

There was no air conditioning and there was a heat wave so the room was uncomfortably hot. There was supposed to be a fan in the room, but there wasn't however the staff ultimately fond one in storage..

EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY

The hotel is well situated - a very short bus trip leaves you in the centre of Galway. Reception area is small but inviting and spotless. The receptionist Louise was so pleasant and helpful. We had a new de luxe room which was large and very tastefully decorated. Huge bathroom. Bed was so comfortable. Top quality throw from McNuttsof Donegal. Tea coffee and water provided. Automatic black out blinds gave us a great sleep. Dining is in the VERY large Bistro. The food is excellent, with great choice. Restaurant staff are so friendly and service is quick. I cannot fault anything in this establishment. We had a perfect stay. The receptionist when leaving was also very pleasant . Full marks all round.

Out of town slightly but easy bus ride in avoided the hassle of finding parking in the city centre. Very popular venue locally - we had to book to get a table for dinner - the food and staff were great. Free parking on site was a bonus.

Great little hotel just outside the city centre. Had a good chat with the bartender in the evening, and enjoyed the stay in the comfortable room. No complaints, happy to have free parking out front.

The number of restaurants inside is terrific. And it was no bother that we had to walk up the stairs to our room on the second floor because elevator service doesn’t go there. However, the room had a very odd smell. It may have been the leather chairs or it may have been Damp. The bathroom was enormous, and the bed was very comfortable. I was just not a fan of our particular room. Also, unless you are interested in walking upwards of a mile to get to downtown, you need to take an Uber or drive down. It’s definitely not walkable otherwise.

Lovely little place for our quick stay in Galway. Location is 15 minute walk from main city center and the restaurant downstairs has great food. Everyone was very kind -Louise at the Front Desk was a standout! The restaurant manager was super sweet, running after my husband to ensure he had plates/silverware for food to take back to our room.

All sorts of dirty and garbage around the window sills by the front entrance was a bad 1st impression and we were concerned right off the bat. However, staff were fantastic when we came in and got a late dinner and that was very good. I couldn't figure out how to temperature control the room so we slept with the inside windows open however it was still quite warm. The 2nd night we went in the lounge / bar for a drink, sat there for about 30 minutes and no one came over to us so we went back to our room. Overall, the place seems well maintained but there was dramatic inconsistency which I've described.
