Family get together

Loved all the rooms/bathrooms. The hot tub and indoor pool were fun. There was enough seating for 16 people at the tables. The kitchen was lacking key components-hot pads, serving dishes, cookies sheets, etc.

90TH Birthday Family Celebration

So pleased with our family’s celebration of our mother’s 90TH birthday. We had ages from 2 to 90. The house was perfect—clean, centrally located, comfortable, roomy, and so well furnished. Thankful this family could be together. Enjoyed every moment.

Great cabin for a large group

We loved our time at The Great Dogwood Manor. We had about 22 people in our group, so we were below the capacity of the property, but the space was perfect for us. The bedrooms are all good sized, and there is plenty of room for bigger kids in the two bunkbed bedrooms. The kitchen and eating areas were perfect for a large group. Everything was clean and well-appointed. We enjoyed having space to be together as a group and also enough bedrooms to retreat for some quiet when needed. We made great memories here. Thank you!

Family reunion in Gatlinburg

Home was well furnished to support our large family. Kitchen had plenty of accessories, dining area plenty of sitting space, bathroom had plenty of towels and toiletries available. Only issue we had with the home is a couple spots on floor that had flooring broken and missing and a fan in a bedroom that was loose to the ceiling. But nothing that negatively impacted our stay. The home was close to town allowing us to walk. It was also close to many hiking trails. We were also able to see bears from our back porch. Would recommend this home to others that plan to visit Gatlinburg.

We had roaches

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and spacious for my family. The cleaning was not up to par. I kept finding strands of hair, there were dirty dishes in the cabinet and we had little visitors throughout the house. This is not ok and needs to be corrected immediately.

Missing floorboards, non working kitchen stove left in dining area, broken ice machine, designated parking spots not available, and not so clean cabin left us unimpressed. Our attempts at resolving the issues went unanswered the entire vacation.

Nice, but DIRTY and poorly maintained.

Our church group used this cabin for a weekend retreat. The location of this cabin in relation to downtown Gatlinburg is fantastic, and the features of the cabin were nice. However, when we arrived for the weekend, the cabin was dirty. The whole cabin was dusty, the coffee pots were broken, parts of the dishwasher was broken and needed to be replaced, the large commercial stove was replaced with a tiny residential version without warning which slowed down cooking, and our group had cleanliness issues in almost every room (dust, trash in the corners/under beds, hair in the bathroom sinks, etc.). The worst by far was the acrylic fingernail we found on the living room floor. I contacted Vacasa to notify them of these issues and was told that they could send a cleaning crew to come and in try to fix things. My question to you who made be considering this cabin is this: How do you let housekeeping into the cabin when you have a group of 30, with all their belongings, and expect them to clean up an already dirty cabin? It was dirty when we arrived after they had "cleaned" and how could they move around a group and expect to clean any better? I am disappointed in the service from Vacasa. This cabin would be great for groups but is poorly cleaned, serviced, and maintained by the rental company. Other groups: you are rolling the dice with this cabin.

Disappointed to say the least!

Booked this unit 2 yrs in a row for a long wkend & paid a high price due to the proximity to the city. This time will be our last thou. Issues: kitchen outlets not working called in Fri 6pm & left vm; live & dead bed bugs found in BR #10, called in Sat 1am, after 10 min of waiting for someone to answer, relayed all the info to a person & asked to have someone in 1st thing in the am to fix both issues. BR #8 had water leak in BA frm upstairs BR #2, not called in. Reason we didnt leave: time of the night, size of our party, & hard to find a vacancy during long wkend. We didnt find any bug activity in other rooms frm what we could see, the displaced guests slept on the couch. Got no callbacks the next day, so I called again 1pm & was told they didnt receive vm frm 6pm call or frm the guy who answered at 1am. Instead, I shouldve called the after-hours no, even thou this was the only no that was shared thru text msgs before our arrival. The so-called "after-hours" no is the Office no listed in their email communication. We were told to stay out of the unit till 8pm while both issues were resolved. None of the guests were willing to sleep in the infested room for the remainder of the trip even after it was sprayed as the room was closed up in the basement & the mattress wouldve been sprayed too. After asking, we got .0229% back as an inconvenience refund (I had to remove the actual amounts due to review guidelines). Regardless to say poor service by Stony Brook Cabin Mgmt & owners!

Vacation in style

Loved the big bedrooms, each with their own private bathrooms. Beds were comfy, the pillows a little stiff, so if you’re a pillow squished, you may want to bring your own. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Gatlinburg, but it’s a bit of a hike up the mountains to get back. The house decor is perfect or that cabin in the woods experience. My only concern was there were more than a few loose floor boards that would slip, some even with nails exposed when they slipped, so I hope management would get those properly repaired. (This is the reason for 4* and not 5). Oh, no hair dryers, so bring your own.
