Lacked amenities for the price I paid but was nice enough, clean and very friendly staff. Place was under construction and thjs was not noted when booking. Found out when I arrived on site which was a major detractor to the enjoyment of my stay. Room was tiny. Expected to have at least a table to sit at or desk for the amount of money they were charging. Just a small room with a bed and bathroom. Nothing else. They did try charging me late check-out fees after saying I could check out late without any additional costs. Was an annoying surprise at checkout and the first person I dealt with wasn't the nicest given their staff told me there was no extra cost.

Fit for purpose

Great room for our purpose of stay which was basically after a concert. Loved the little lights that came on during night as you walked to bathroom. These were motion sensors under the bed. Also night light in the bathroom. Towels were great, actually a decent size and not the ones that only go half way round your body (unless your a size 8 where they fully fit!). Little things like that make the difference

Very close to ovo hydro. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff. Queen room very small and lacks storage. No wardrobe or drawers and only 4 hangers on a wall hook. Two teabags and a few basic coffee sachets. If you like a biscuit with your hot drink, bring your own as none offered. Kingsize room perhaps has more to offer but wasn't available for our visit. Breakfast selection was satisfactory.

Bit of a mix up over breakfast. Was sure I had ticked that box at time of booking and cost did go up from basic room price however on arrival we were not booked in for breakfast. Unfortunately my online receipt did not mention breakfast so just had to do without and go elsewhere. So would screen shot my entire booking process in future. Other than that I have no complaints. Room was clean and comfortable. Minor grumble - only 2 teabags and coffee sachets, could’ve done with a couple more. Shower pressure was brilliant and nice complementary toiletries. Big bottles so less plastic waste than the usual small one use bottles. Just remembered another wee grumble! 😂 only 1 USB charge point at side of bed so only one of us could charge at bedside. The UK plug point was also at that same side so even with a charging plug my phone was across the room from me. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the complimentary cocktail on arrival was most welcome. The hotel is undergoing a refit externally and scaffolding was almost at our window which looked on to the OVO multi-storey car park so was expecting quite a bit of noise but was so quiet!! Very pleasant surprise! All in all this would definitely be my go to hotel for concerts/exhibitions at OVO or SECC.
