"Contentment" is a beautiful early 20th century, one-story home on 80 acres.

Exterior spaces include a screened back porch, large front porch, brick patio and a deck.

The pool is generally open May - October. Please check with us to see if it will be open during your stay.

Our property is located in the Hale County countryside just 2 minutes south of downtown Greensboro, AL.
The land was purchased by an Episcopal priest in the early 1830's and now, 6 generations later, it remains a cherished family home. "Contentment"
has been home to Episcopal ministers, teachers, gardeners, birders and nature lovers.

The house sits on 80 acres, 5 acres are maintained. The entire 80 acres is open to guests and includes over 2 miles of trails!

In 2022, habitat restoration projects began, first with a native grassland prairie restoration (ongoing), and in 2024 work began to open and restore the pine-stand understory. The goal is to manage for greater biodiversity and as a birding family we particularly enjoy watching and listening to the bird species change with the seasons!

There is poison ivy near some trails. We recommend that you be able to identify it and to stay on the trails to avoid exposure.

Leave bedding on the beds, we gather laundry after you leave. Please sign the guest book and leave a review on VRBO!
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Please remove shoes before entering the house. Wash all dishes before checking out.
Put kitchen garbage (IN GARBAGE BAGS) in outdoor garbage can when checking out (more garbage bags can be found in the bottom drawer left of stove).
