The area is family-friendly and has child-friendly beaches with calm waters. In nearby Hadersleben, you can stroll through an old quarter dominated by a cathedral. You can also stroll through the Dampark in the center and take a trip on the paddle steamer Helena to Aarö, the pearl in the Little Belt. There are farm stores on the island selling goods from the small Danish islands. A visit to Brummers Gaard farm is a real experience, where you can enjoy a good dinner. They offer dishes from Galloway cattle, which are bred on the island. Aarö Winery is also an option if you want to taste locally produced wine. The ferry from Aarösund to Aarö departs once an hour.
