The hotel is located in old quarter. It is within walkable distance to almost everything, everything if you enjoy walks. The room is comfortable and quiet, considering situated on a very busy street. I had many good sleeps even when traffic is horrendous outside. Staff is friendly and attentive. Also perhaps it is better to book ride to and from the airport with them? I paid over 500k viet dong for a one way trip from the airport to the hotel by taxi. When I booked the trip back with the hotel, it was only 300k. It is quite reasonable. I wish I had known before or the hotel had emailed and offered the service. Over all, it is a good hotel located in a very convenient location.

Penalties for smoking in the toilet of the rooms

I have been penalty for 500,000 for smoking inside my rooms toilet. They should inform me about this regulation while checking in and not during checking out. Anyway I will not use this hotel anymore and will inform my friends and associates about this bad experience.

I like the location , the hotel was clean and family room is bigger than I expected for a small hotel. Staff pretty awesome very helpful. What I didn’t like is they put a bowl of candy sweet on the front desk ,so my kid would love to take it each time we went down LOL 😁 just for a laugh! Thank you MARO !!!

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Old Quarter

WOW! Wish we had booked this place on the front end of our trip in Hanoi! We only stumbled across it because the end of our trip our previous hotel was booked. Lucky for us! This place is situated perfectly in the Old Quarter with a close walk to everything. It's down the by lake plaza so off the main roads, which was nice since we didn't have to march through the crowded and noisy streets to get to this area. We booked the family room which did not face the road so it was very quiet. The room was quite large with a kitchenette and sitting area as well. Very comfortable for our family of three. I will go back here for sure if we visit Hanoi again in the future. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. Thank you Maro Hotel! We really enjoyed our stay with you.

EXCELLENT location! 2 minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. The staff (notably: Maria, Eric, Robinson, and Monika) went above and beyond. ALWAYS so pleasant and helpful with any requests or problems. Even sending out someone to buy me some fruits at the market early morning because my bus pickup was so early before breakfast room was open. I stayed in Suite Room (facing busy and noisy street, but noise didn't bother me at all at night). Nice BIG room! Would 100% stay there again, such great location and incredible staff.

"Maro Hotel" A hidden gem with 5 star Staff

From the time of my booking until my check out at "The Maro Hotel" I had a 5 star experience. Monica at reception was a great help prior to my arrival and during my visit. Airport transport thru hotel is the only way to travel, on time and stress free. With an early flight the kitchen staff and Bop Son went out of there way and made be breakfast. This type of service you wouldn't find at other hotels. I will return to Hanoi in October and again hope to stay at Maro. Also great location in Old Quarter. The picture used on Hotel website said it all "Welome Home". You have a good feeling exploring your new adventures. :)

Perfectly located

The Maro is perfectly situated, only 1 minute walk to Hoàn Kiếm Lake and yet right on the edge of the Old Quarter. So you have easy access both to the beautiful waterside views and to the incredible noise and energy at the heart of the city without the intrusion of the noise when you want to escape and sleep off any excesses! Lisa and the team at the hotel were superbly accommodating and helped us makes sense of the narrow old quarter streets, pointing us in the direction of some excellent restaurants, both high- and low-brow. We stayed at the Maro on three separate occasions during our holiday as we used Hanoi as our hub for additional trips out to Laos and Halong Bay. The hotel were happy to look after any bags we wanted to leave with them while we were away and we were made to feel like old friends each time we arrived back. Overall, a lovely hotel in the right place in a great city.
