My rating is not about the house which was comfortable and in a great location, although older than it looked in the pictures. My rating reflects my experience with the host. Our treatment was neither fair or reasonable, and communication was very poor. I was contacted on Christmas Eve asking for more money for a mid-January stay as they hadn't charged me an extra person charge for the 3rd person in our party. When I questioned this I was told they can do this if there is an 'obvious error'. I again questioned this as the house was for 4 people and there was no mention on the site of an extra person charge for more than 2 people. My emails were ignored. I ended up paying the extra as I felt I had no choice, as wouldn't be able to find somewhere else in peak season. I would be wary of booking with this host, as it just felt like a money grab.
