There are several pros and cons with this space. We booked it even though it cost more than average for Hilo and the pictures showed a beautiful spa like space. However, the pictures and reviews failed to demonstrate the surrounding neighborhood which was run down. There was a homeless encampment two doors down from us along the beach. The rental was also located close to the main road and along the direct plane path for Hilo airport which lead to interrupted sleep. We also found a cockroach in the kitchen. One of the bedrooms had a wooden board on the window to support the room airconditioner. On our last night, the fire alarm went off as it was low on battery the whole night and we accidentally locked ourselves outside of the unit and had difficulty reaching the property manager. Pros: -the interior space is nicely designed and decorated-the showers were amazing with great water pressure -beautiful view of the bay Cons:-rundown neighborhood with homeless encampment near by. I was concerned about safety-Makeshift fixes in the unit with wooden board holding a/c unit in bedroom and electric tape supporting curtain rod-some difficulty communicating with property manager (especially with fire alarm chirping and being locked out)-very close to busy road and in the path of flight landing leading to interrupted sleep

The house was even better than we expected. Really an amazing location and it’s very close to many good restaurants and the farmers market. Being able to watch the surfers every morning is entertaining. 100% would rent again.

Amazing house, great location. Fantastic wall-to-wall views of the bay, watching sunrise and surfers catch waves. The full body showers were also a highlight. This was perfect for our family’s time in Hilo!

Right on the ocean overlooking Hilo, surfers just off shore, walking distance to several of Hilo's nicest restaurants. Very modern interior and you had the option of cooking on a gas cooktop or an induction cooktop. Now I know that induction boils water about three times faster than gas. Awesome showers.
