Excellent location close to Central, with lots of restaurants and shops within easy waling distance. Only 10 minute walk from Hong Kong MTR station, and the express link to/from the airport. The room was clean and comfortable, and a reasonable size for central Hong Kong. Not having a reception at street level was not ideal, but once in reception the service was excellent. Fridge and safe provided, but drinking water has to be collected in a provided glass jug from a cooler in reception (part of the hotel's eco policy) - in reality this was not much of a problem for us. The hotel provided a free-of charge pocket 4G device to give you a mobile wi-fi hotspot while you are out and about. Great idea and very useful, but the device battery only gives about 4-5 hours continuous use, so if you are out all day you may need to switch the device on & off selectively or give it a charge boost during the day.

Location Location and Location. Central to every things. Complimentary a la cart coffee machine is great. You can make Cappuccino, espresso etc. If you have 2 specialty coffees a day, That is about $HK 130 free right there. Small but nice and comfortable. What size you expect in HK right?

We stayed at the Butterfly for 3 nights in early November, 2025. Hotel has a great location, as well as a friendly and helpful staff. However, to rate this hotel as 4 star is a significant stretch. Middle 3 stars at best. The rooms are older, small, and poorly lit. They are short on modern conveniences like USB and electrical outlets, and the amenities few (provided in the lobby). Overall this place is sort of OK, nothing great about it except location, but acceptable in a basic kind of way.

Yes the room was spotless. However my short stay was marred by a ‘faused fire alarm” alert sound in the corridor in the evening. I called the receptionist at once and was assured there was no real fire! At least the safety equipment was (malfunctioning) working! Other than that my stay was fine.
