Turtle heaven

This was our 2nd stay at the resort but different unit. Clean and well supplied unit. A bit of road noise from loud cars, without AC it is necessary to have windows open. Love the property, turtles daily. We hope to come back again.

Great view and location

I enjoyed my stay. The location is perfect for doing all the activities as it is centrally located. Parking is an issue. No warning was given to essentially DO NOT PARK IN THE GARAGE. The signage for parking in the garage is inaccurate. It damaged my rental car and cost me over $1000 to repair. The property manager (Larry) said “we put signs up but people still hit it”. My trip would have been perfect aside from this.

We loved the condos. Our specific unit was a ground level and very convenient for going to pool and ocean. It was a bit loud as I suspect all of building B is by the pool. It is one of the cheaper units at the condos which helps offset some of the little things that could have been better. There is a light on the pathway that shines right into your eyes on the couch bed. Maybe rearrange furniture or just take the light bulb out. Otherwise it was great.

Great place would book again. Too many kids.

Too many kids. Our last 2 stays we only witnessed a few children. This is a nice quiet and relaxing place to stay. Would recommend reviewing policies to not allow so many small children. Kinda detracts from the relaxing experience. Thank you.

Lovely quiet place

Great unit on ground level. This condo is very nicely updated, clean and well decorated. Bed was comfy and the room was quiet. Nice to be on ground level with the ocean and front viewing area steps away. One thing I didn’t love about this unit is the walking path for other guests is right near the patio area which made it feel less private. Also, not really an ocean view from the room being kind of tucked away and lots of garden area around the sliding door. Otherwise pretty fantastic and you cannot beat the Hale Mahina for a beautiful ocean front place with a small quiet beach with daily sea turtles swimming by or sunning on the beach !

Beautiful sunsets in a quiet complex :)

My husband and I loved our stay here for our honeymoon. The apartment is conveniently located on the ground floor with easy access to the pool and beach areas. The tide was high/sand was too low during our stay so we weren't able to access the beach but loved watching the turtles come up and rest on the shoreline in the evenings. The complex was quiet and peaceful unlike the over crowded resorts nearby. There is no A/C but the apartment was comfortable with the ocean breeze and open screen windows. Would stay here again!

We were able to watch the sunset every night from the pool-amazing! Loved how close the pool/hot tub/and ocean were in proximity to our place. Everything was super clean- bathroom seemed recently updated. We loved being so close to Lahaina and all the activities. Highly recommend this rental!

Absolutely paradise, turtles rest on the beach out front, nice clean property and pool, hot tub area, small condo complex. Unfortunately, the property manager was non-communicative. They did not leave a parking pass, did not respond to multiple calls and tests. We never did get one. Also, the place was not clean upon arrival. Other than that, it was a beautiful location.

Location, location, location!

What a gem. This place is such an idyllic spot and overall a great value. Roomy and right on the beach with a well-maintained pool and landscaping, the photos don't even do it justice. We experienced what other reviewers have mentioned in terms of the lack of insulation in the bedroom for outdoor sounds and the hide-a-bed is barely functional and a bit musty. However, I'd book it again in a heartbeat. Great place and really clear communication. Thanks for a magical vacation!

Not at all like the photos

The bed in the photos appeared to be a king,, so my friend and I planned to share that bed. When we got there and saw that it was a FULL? So I had to sleep on the extremely uncomfortable couch for the week. It was horrid. Also, the drapes in the living room are COVERED with black mold. Someone need to let that owner know that he can be sued if someone gets sick.

LOVE Hale Mahina!

This was our third stay at Hale Mahina, we love the small uncrowded feeling of this condo complex! It has everything we need in a great area with restaurants & shopping within walking distance. The condo was as listed minus the fact that the bedroom has a queen bed not a king, but we still enjoyed it very much! The management company was very easy to work with & accommodating ! We will be back!

Beautiful condo

We really enjoy every visit to Maui and the condos at Hale Mahina. This was our seventh stay but the first in this condo. This condo is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is full of everything you need to cook up your favorite meal. The sliding glass door opens right up to the pool and the beach. Perfect for watching the whales and eyeing the turtles sleeping on the beach at night. A few drawbacks to this unit though...We found that the bedroom is extremely noisy. Although the bed is extremely comfortable the noise makes it near impossible to get a good nights sleep with the coming/going of the cars in the parking lot and the people walking by. Definitely the negative side to being on the ground floor. We have always stayed up on the third and fourth levels and you never hear the vehicle or people noise. Another drawback was the pull out bed from the couch. Very uncomfortable and very squeaky. The couch was comfortable, but the pull out bed could really use an upgrade to keep the condo advertising to sleep 4 people. Overall we dealt with the minor imperfections and had a great time - Maui is gorgeous and we will return to the Hale Mahina condos on our next visit.

5th Time @ Hale Mahina

Just back from our 5th stay at the Hale Mahina and our 1st stay in B101. We had a wonderful vacation and the unit is beautifully appointed with most everything you need. PROS: Completely and beautifully remodeled, comfy bed, everything you need for cooking. The biggest plus for us was the walkout access to the pool/beach. In upper units you need to come down the stairs and through the locked gate. With such ease of access we found we spent a lot more time outside, which we loved. CONS: The comfy bed is small, maybe a queen but sometimes felt like a double. Can you tell we are used to a king? The units small, uncovered patio looks out to the pool and ocean but also to the path everyone else takes to get to the pool/ocean. This makes for a lack of privacy, especially at night when the lights are on. Most other guests make it a point to not peer into the unit but a couple of people had some issues respecting our privacy. Despite the cons we would rent the unit again and we encourage you to stay at the Hale Mahina!

Paradise

Our first visit to Hawaii was 1992, and we've had many visits to different islands over the years. This has been the most enjoyable for us in Maui. The kitchen is well stocked, which makes food prep easy. The location is walking distance to farmers market, ABC store and various shops and markets. The information book within the unit is helpful. A key point for us is a comfortable bed, and we were pleased. We loved walking out our door to a great beach and steps away from a beautiful pool. We had, for our first time, a number of mishaps; small things broke. It was nothing anyone could prevent just real life came knocking. A hole in our tea kettle, the washer on the fritz, and the lock on our door, I contacted Chasing Rainbows management and they had things fixed in a jiffy. I hated to call, did not want to complain but Melinda was far more concerned about our inconvenience. She was exceptional in both kindness and professionalism. And the last best thing, the people. We enjoyed the other families and retired vacationers, everyone was warm and friendly. From the whales in the distance to turtles sun bathing on the beach every day at Kale Mahina was an absolute pleasure.
