We won't be staying here again

It wasn't so bad that we didn't stay the night, but we won't be staying here again. There were people smoking in the parking lot, smoking on the balconies, and you could smell the smoke in the room. There were old stains in the furniture, the bedding and the floor. There were cigarette burn holes in the bedding. I needed to put my water in the fridge and when I opened the fridge it was disgusting. Breakfast had very limited options available. I mean, at least they had hot eggs, but no hot meat. Like I said, it wasn't bad enough that we left and got another hotel, but we won't be staying here again.

What I thought was different was that I had to put a $50 deposit on the room because I didn't book directly with them. Never had that before. The morning breakfast was kind of poor. No fruit,cold coffee.

Pulled into the parking lot after being on the road for 10 hours and no other availability in area. Sheriffs were at the motel next door. Inside lobby was locked and you had to check in through a bulletproof glass window. Two people were in line before me and it took 30 minutes to check in. Upon checking in with a reservation I was charged a $50 deposit. I asked why and was told for “incidentals”. Holiday Inn doesn’t charge $50. Also no ice available, the shower squealed awful for entire use and room key and envelope were obviously reused. I double checked both bed for bed bugs, no sign but bedding was stained but clean. I didn’t sleep a wink.

Obviously the location is meant for travelers, not vacationers. We arrived about two hours early and they wanted to charge $26.50 early check in. Not one car in the lot and they said the room WAS ready. Old tired rooms and property. Room entryway is outside like a motel. We had to listen to the creep nextdoor play games on his phone sitting outside our door. Sick of the low standards in chain hotels these days.
