We stayed 2 nights in a junior suite. Very spacious, comfortable and with a large bathroom. The staff were very welcoming. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant which seemed very popular and also breakfast each morning. Thank you for having us
Lovely historical building (1870s) still in excellent repair, very nice room. Wonderful grounds to wander around. Pull the curtains AND the shades because the light still comes in. Very good meal in the hotel restaurant, excellent sourdough bread. Restaurant waitstaff was young and still in training. We received excellent advice on where we could do laundry in town.
This is a really nice hotel and it had everything we expected in Inverness. Cozy and accomodating to our needs. We traveled with kids and most relevant of all was the presence of Molly, a pet whose owner worked at the reception, an extremely nice pet that made our kids happy playing fetch in the greener grass ever and on a superb weather. Breakfast was very good. We got there a little late the night before, having to travel long hours to know Scotland's highland, yet the cheff was kind enough to stay longer to be able to serve our family some dinner. Being an Outlander fan I found that "Jimy Fraser" stayed in the room nest to mine, culliden and clava cairns was really closed to the hotel, which made it easier to complete my list of places to viait.
I recommend thia hotel with eyes closed, you will not regret it.
Property was just okay. We booked two standard king-bed rooms on Expedia and one party in our group ended up in a room for disabled individuals and the hotel blamed Expedia. They did the same thing to the couple in front of us who booked a suite and got a smaller room. Additionally, one of our rooms had dirty sheets and comforter and we had to have it changed late at night. Staff was again blaming the poor quality on Expedia (which is ridiculous). I hate managers who cannot take responsibility for their mistakes. Would not recommend this hotel.
This was by far in all my travels to the UK (this was my 4th) the nicest, most comfortable, best all around hotel I stayed at. Staff was so incredibly friendly! Food was delicious (we had three breakfasts and one dinner there). In three nights I got hooked on the heated towel rack and now I’m looking to get one for home!
Charming and perfect for our stay in Oban. We walked to dinner and enjoyed beautiful scenery. Our room was adorable and bathroom gorgeous and big! The breakfast was exceptional. Do not hesitate to book.
Very friendly staff and incredibly helpful giving advice to the best places to eat in town! Absolutely loved the hotel and rooms itself. Food was great (try the haggis starter). Sam was especially helpful!!!
Four of us (all adults) stayed here for our last night of a 10-day trip through England and Scotland. We couldn't believe how beautiful the exterior of the hotel was, as well as the lobby, and restaurant ... we felt like we were staying in a one of the castles we'd seen along the way. The staff were terrific, including Molly, an adorable pup who loves to play with the guests! Our rooms were comfortable and offered us a great night's rest before our journey back home to the States from Inverness Airport. The showers were a bit of a letdown, though, as there was very little water pressure. It's an old building, so perhaps that's to be expected? The breakfast buffet made up for it :)
One night
Small room lacking usb type outlets
Staff v pleasant but overworked
Constant sense of staff being rushed and being asked to wait
Poorly designed processes in dining room =waiting a long time
Good kind people working there
No hot water for shower. The boiler had to be reset and it was fixed. Breakfast service on 5/21 was slow and lacked the attention to details from the day before. Maybe they were short staffed?
Staff in all venues were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We would stay here again.
The property was lovely and we enjoyed the restuaraunt and the staff was very friendly. The building is older and the room was compact, but that was part of the charm for us.
I cannot say enough amazing things about our stay here. Breakfast was great, staff were exceptionally helpful and the location was beautiful. If you don’t have a car the walk into the downtown Inverness is long, but it’s a beautiful walk.
The staff went out of their way to make sure we had packed lunches for one of our tours, I also showed up with a black eye from an accident early on in our travels and they made sure to get me ice regularly for it.
We will absolutely be back.
