The Simple Peak is a Scandinavian design meant to connect people to a simpler time. The focus is to become more in-tune with nature and its basic elements, such as wood, stone, and natural light.



The interior features a blend of modern comfort and rustic charm, with large windows throughout that frame the San Juan inlet and local mountains.



A large patio surrounds the house with indoor/outdoor living in mind. Heated concrete floors and a crackling fire are there to keep you warm in the stormy season. Well equipped with children’s games, toys, highchair, pack-n-play, cups and utensils, it’s a space the whole family will enjoy. New build fall of 2024.

the cottage is nestled in a rainforest, surrounded by the lush beauty of nature. While the hosts make efforts to clear away cobwebs, animal and bird droppings, as well as leaves and debris before guests arrive, they kindly ask guests to understand that the cottage is situated in the habitat of these creatures. Therefore, it's natural for them to rebuild their webs and nests. Appreciating this delicate balance between human habitation and the natural environment adds to the charm of the stay.

There is limited cell service in Port Renfrew, but the cottage has WI-FI. Guest can email, or enable WI-FI calling on their smart phone, or use other application to call such as What's app, or others. Current cell phone providers that work in the area are Rogers, Fido, Shaw and limited Telus.

We do our best to keep essentials like salt, pepper, and oil stocked. If you notice they're running low during your stay, feel free to let us know!



Please note: we do not provide coffee, so be sure to bring your favorite brew.

🔥 Firewood Information



Firewood is supplied by the owner when available, however it is not guaranteed. The previous guest may have used it all, and occasionally the wood may be damp due to our rainforest climate.



Because of the remoteness of the area, it can sometimes take a while for our wood supplier to restock, so we can’t promise there will always be a full supply on hand.



Please note: Any firewood provided is for indoor fireplace use only and is not for the outdoor firepit.



We recommend bringing your own fire starters/kindling to ensure an easy start.



There are also local residents in the area who often sell firewood — you’ll typically see roadside signs posted nearby.
