Luana Villa 17C is a newer resort home located steps from Kaanapali Beach within renowned Honua Kai Resort and Spa. Luana Garden Villas is the final phase of Honua Kai Resort and Spa, located on the stunning Kaanapali Beach on Maui’s western shores and steps from everything west Maui has to offer.

This luxurious villa is located within the 38 family-friendly acres of the Honua Kai Resort and Spa, designed with relaxation and memory-making in mind, offering guests an unmatched resort experience while proving residential living at its finest. This villa boasts over 2000 sq. ft. of contemporary interior living space with expansive western windows that open up to a wide lanai, providing your family with plenty of room to enjoy the Maui lifestyle.

Spend your days at your enclave’s semi private pool and hot-tub located amongst the luxurious Hawaiian gardens or take a very short stroll to the world famous Kaanapali beach, or aquatic playgrounds of the Honua Kai resort. Experience world class dining, shopping and golf within minutes leaving your villa by visiting Whaler’s village and the Kaanapali and Kapalua golf courses.

This top floor villa will provide you with the privacy to relax in your lanai while enjoying the views of your garden enclave. The residence is fully furnished with everything you need for a luxurious Maui vacation and a gourmet kitchen to prepare your favorite family meals. The Lanai is equipped with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ and plenty of lounging and dining space for the entire family. The residence also includes a private garage plus additional parking in the driveway and an ensuite full size washer and dryer.

Resort amenities include a network of swimming pools, waterfalls and children shallow pool, 24 hour fitness facility and front desk, Duke’s beach house restaurant, and Whaler’s general store.

TAX
The State of Hawaii mandates a total tax of 17.962%. Excise tax is 4.172% and Transient Tax is 13.25% to be paid on all transient accommodations. Taxes are identified on the reservation confirmation (Subject to change). (The higher rate of 17.962% applies to all departures starting 1/1/2024 regardless of when the property was booked.

Taxes are paid to the state of Hawaii and County of Maui based on the guest’s dates of stay. Any changes to the current tax rate will be charged or refunded to the guests depending on the increase or decrease.


OCCUPANCY:
Additional Guests of any age (infants and toddlers included) are strictly prohibited without prior approval. If approved, a fee of $100+tax per day will be added to the reservation for each additional guest.
One infant is allowed without additional fees.

CANCELLATION:
Cancellation outside a 60-day period prior to arrival is subject to a 10% (of total) cancellation fee. Any cancellations made within the 60-day period may result in forfeiture of all monies paid. Please review the listing Terms and Conditions for more information. We highly recommend that all guests purchase a travel insurance policy. Cancelation policy is strictly enforced. All credit cards fees will be deducted before a refund is issued.

Honua Kai Villa 5 Stars Highly Recommended

My family of 4 and one of our adult kid’s friends stayed at this wonderful condo villa on the Honua Kai Resort property. The villa is spacious, clean, has modern appliances, and is stocked with everything needed for cooking. There is a separate garage that had boogie boards, beach chairs, a cooler, wagon, and kids toys. The only thing we would’ve liked is a beach umbrella, but we got one for free with snorkel rental at the Snorkel Store.The Luana villas are not beachfront, but they are quieter and have more private pools and hot tubs that are separate from the fairly chaotic resort pools in front of the main Honua Kai buildings. I would only recommend the Luana villas at Honua Kai and not the main buildings.The villa is in a very good location on the property. It is a short walk from the north tower, which has the whaler’s cove food market and is near to a neighboring lot that hosts food trucks (but far enough away that you don’t see or hear it).There is also a full grocery store within a short walk.Like a previous reviewer, we were told that central air was not working in the bedrooms and portable units would be provided, but we addressed our concerns with the property manager and the portable air conditioners worked well. We did not have access to the bedroom lenais due to ventingf AC, but the main lanai with a grill, dining table, and seating area facing the pool was accessible. I met the property manager on the day we arrived and she is very kind and helpful.

Air conditioning was broken long before our arrival

We were notified that air conditioning in the unit was broken only when we were in the airplane en route to the property. We later learned that this was not a recent development and that parts were on back order long before we were notified. Portable a/c units were brought in but weren’t effective. A technicality in the contract says because of the remote location, management isn’t response for mechanical failure. When we requested a credit to reflect the fact that we were living in a sauna, we were refused. We requested a late checkout. After complaining, they agreed but mentioned that this would cost them one day of rental income. THIS PROVES THAT THEY ONCE AGAIN INTENDED TO RENT THE UNIT KNOWING ThE A/C WAS BROKEN. DO YOU THINK THEY INTEND TO NOTIFY THE NEXT RENTERS OF THE BROKEN A/C OR PULL THE SAME STUNT ON THE NEXT RENTERS, UTILIZING THE SAME FINE PRINT TECHNICALITY THAT WAS USED ON US?

We were a family of 6 (3 college aged and 1 HS). Beautiful place! We loved having the pool right outside the door and the beach just a short walk away. It’s right across the street from a grocery store which was super convenient. Would definitely be on our list if we come back to Maui!

Condo Oasis

This listing is such a great stay and worth the price. Everything is new and updated and there are so many options - the beach, the pool or all the other pools! We want to stay again! Two things that would be nice to know ahead of time; 1. The condo is up a flight of stairs and there is no elevator, so elder guests may have issues accessing the Unit. And 2. The condo pool is saltwater, which is something my kids had to get used to.

Wonderful stay with or 4 Teens!

We had an amazing 10 days at the 3 bedroom villa with our 4 teens ages 15 to 22. We have stayed at many resorts and this was by far one of our favourite places to stay. The villa was beautiful, immaculate and spacious. There was not a single thing I can think of that the villa did not have. We loved the outdoor lanai and spent hours enjoying coffee, drinks, reading, playing games. The BBQ was a huge plus. We enjoyed many lunches and dinners just hanging out instead of going out to eat. The property manager was very responsive. Wifi worked great. Beds were comfy. We loved having the private pool and hot tub right in front of the villas vs the more crowded resort pools. There is a grocery store wihin walking distance as well as excellent food trucks. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach and ocean throught the resort. Always plenty of towels. The resort itself has a decent general store with great coffee/lattes and smoothies as well as a good selection of snacks, toiletries, alcohol, etc. The restaurant at the Resort, Duke's, is also excellent. Great food, mixed drinks and yummy desserts. Everyone very friendly and sits on the ocean with gorgeous views. The snorkeling right at the resort and all along the beach was very good, our 4 kids loved it. We even saw a handful of turtles while snorkeling right at the beach. Highly Recommend. A++

Perfect family vacation

We had a family of 6, 4 boys ages 6-9 and this was the perfect place to spend a week. Small pool, big pools and the ocean all close by. The house was clean and stocked with all the necessities. It made for a relaxing and fun time with our family!

We had a fabulous stay at this condo. Plenty of room, very comfortable and immaculately clean. It had everything we needed and more. Our kids loved the big pool, and the smaller one right outside. Awesome location - very convenient, and nice to have the food trucks and Duke’s right there. I’d highly recommend this property to anyone and look forward to returning.

Gorgeous villa!

We were blown away by how beautiful this villa is! We would wake up to watch the sunrise over the mountains every morning, and there was so much space to spread out for 2 families. This villa is a great location near the main resort, so it’s a quick walk to the main resort’s pools. I would not hesitate fo stay again!

Simply- an Excellent Property

Everything that was portrayed about the property we found true on our arrival. The unit was in excellent condition, clean, and stocked with all the key essentials to help make our stay a comfortable one. The only negative I had about the unit, was the ice maker proved challenged to meet our needs. But beyond that, we loved staying here and would do so again in the future as well as recommend it to our friends who plan to visit Maui.

Ready to go back!

It’s not often you rent a place that exceeds your expectations, but this Villa did that and then some. From the moment we arrived to check in we were greeted by a friendly smile by the resort employees and nothing changed the entire stay. It was very clean, beds were cozy and it was so quiet. The large lanais were the perfect place to spend early mornings drinking coffee and watching the variety of pretty birds. Located just a short walk away from the beach this villa is the perfect peaceful getaway to spend your days! It was very well equipped with essential items to cook, BBQ and do laundry. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub especially after playing at the beach. A huge plus that we weren’t aware of is how close it is to a group of yummy food trucks! I would stay here again in a heartbeat and weeks later our two year old asks when we are going back to the house in Maui.

The photos were an accurate representation of the villa. It was very clean, the kitchen had everything we would have needed if we wanted to cook our own meals. The villa was comfortable and well appointed.The mountain view was beautiful, especially as waited for sun the morning to raise above it.The birds, the scent of gardenia and plumeria blooms, fantastic. For me, to be able to run straight into the ocean to cool off, at the end of a sweaty run, I will miss the most.

We have stayed at Honua Kai six different times. We love this property. The villas afforded a little "getaway" from the crowds. Although you have use of all the resort pools - they were very crowded in June. The Villa pools could be crowded at times as well but we would just wait until that family was done OR we would wander over to the pool at the next villa "pod" and often there would be no one. Duke's was "sold out" for reservations until September - so be prepared to cook during your stay. They did allow walk-ups - but the wait was long. If you go to the island do NOT expect to eat out on the spur of the moment and be patient. Restaurants were still at 50% capacity and staff was in short supply (June 2021). The owners are VERY responsive and wonderful to deal with. Highly recommend. Side note - This unit did not have a lani shade - but the sun did not bother us at all during that time of year. There IS a gate at the top of the lani stairs (which we noticed some units do NOT have) if you have little ones - This would be an BIG advantage to have.
