My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The in room jet tub was amazing with unlimited, very hot water. Staff was very friendly and inviting. Rooms have the most beautiful river view. My wife and I will definitely be staying here every time we are in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at Hearthstone Lodge by the River in Kamiah, ID, August 6-8, 2025. The Lodge and our room were exquisitely beautiful with very comfortable, clean, restful, and peaceful accommodations!! We enjoyed very friendly, interesting conversation with the Lodge Staff. The housekeeper/front desk employee (I want to say Melissa) was SO FRIENDLY! She knew so much history of the property and was kind enough to give us a tour of a second building. The cafe for breakfast was so yummy and not far. The jet tub and wood burning stove sealed the deal.

We were incredibly impressed with our room! It was clean and spacious with tasteful decor and lighting. The king bed was amazing! So comfortable with a down feather bed, pillows, comforter and very high-end sheets. The bathrobes were a classy touch to go with the deep jetted soaker tub. A perfect room for a romantic getaway. Hearthstone was excellent, the staff is very friendly and lives on site, the building has some very nice architectural touches and is very clean, the rooms have vintage furniture and their own unique personalities, and everything's very comfy. I had the best night of sleep of my entire two week trip, and woke up to the view of the Clearwater river from the room. The breakfast at the Hearthstone Bakery in town is less than 5 minutes away, and was definitely worth the trip. You do have to go up a relatively steep gravel drive to the lodge from the highway, but I was able to make it just fine under wet conditions with a 2-wheel-drive station wagon that has no ground clearance, so it's not bad at all. I highly recommend staying at the lodge, I'll definitely be returning on my next trip.

This unexpected delight was the first leg of our trip. What a way to start! Outstanding service at the Lodge. Clean and comfy WITH a HUGE jetted tub! ( some carpet in the room but we dont mind that at all). What a choice for breakfast! 9 different flavors of sourdough all made here at the bakery. ( off site from the Lodge). This little town is amazing!

We were locked out at 9:30 on a sat due to no signs in room telling you not to lock your deadbolt as room key does not un lock it. Not 24 hr front desk. No lights from parking lot to front, side or front of lodge where you enter at night. You are in the middle of no where and it’s pitch dark. We paid for river view room, and from first floor, middle room, you can not see River. When calling number to get into lodge when locked out, owner was rude and told us we could get refund and find another place to stay. Miss representing your hotel is not our fault, then try to shame us and say we can leave. Although the area is beautiful and peaceful as others have described, it is not represented correctly when booking on line. When in person the staff thinks you rude when you mention that you wish you didn’t have to drive to town to get your free breakfast. Although they may find this normal in this 1200 person town, this would not be acceptable any other place without your guest knowing this at time of booking. There is no excuse for charging guest for a river view when there is none from their room.

The room was clean , and so cute ! We didn’t talk to the staff very long , it was the lady that checked us in , she was nice , but didn’t tell us much about dining options , so we had to figure it out on our own . The breakfast at the cafe was yummy, And the staff there were very kind . If we ever make it up there again , I would definitely stay there !
