Cape Hatteras National Seashore is a 1.5 hour drive down Highway 12 and soak in the beautiful view with the sound and the ocean on both sides separated by the dunes. Take a drive in the opposite direction down 12 and escape the pavement in Corolla, the 4x4 beach where the wild horses run free.
