The place was quiet and peaceful. We had the pool to ourselves the couple of times we used it. The two things that I was on the downside is that the vegan options for breakfast was extremely limited. The one time I ate there with my children they were nice enough to provide us with oatmeal. I wasn’t sure if i ate there again would i have been charged since oatmeal was an extra charge so I decided to make my kids and I our own breakfast. Also, there was a weird noice in my room that sounded like a knock on my window. The sounds started at 5am and continued till 7am for the 3 nights I stayed there. I still don’t know what it was but it was weird. other than that the place was beautiful. I just with their breakfast meal was more inclusive to everyone dietary needs.

Beautiful property and a very attentive staff. The property is well kept and the gardens are very beautiful with the Fortuna River running along the hotel. Breakfast was included and was delicious! The breakfast staff were amazing and front desk was great too!

We spent 5 nights here. Resort was full, but quiet! Beautiful, clean and very safe. The ceviche was to die for! Alright we had a river view room… we could not see the river. It didn’t matter. You could hear it and the view no. The less was beautiful with all the trees and flowers, the birds singing and the goose cackling. So peaceful. Our family really enjoyed our stay.

This property was bigger than I expected. Not really walkable, downtown la fortuna was about 15-20min away walking. Staff was very nice and friendly. It kind of sucked having to walk up a hill just to go eat breakfast go to the pool or leave the area in general but overall good experience, property was very nice maintained and you could see the volcano from the restaurant most days we were there too

We stayed here very last minute. We were supposed to stay at Arenal Waterfall lodge for our 3 nights in La Fortuna and after the first night I said no way. Luckily the 1 king bed/1 twin bed with private jacuzzi was available for our other two nights and SAVED our trip! It was so luxurious! Everything we hated about the other hotel this hotel had done right. There were no bugs in our room, it was super modern with plenty of outlets and lights, and you still felt like you were in the jungle even though you were close to town, because of the luxurious gardening. Plus after a long day of hiking when you are too tired to move, there is a fabulous restaurant on site with the most attentive kind waiters! In addition, this hotel was as spread out as Arenal Waterfall lodge but the smart people at this hotel had golf carts to help people with all their luggage! It is so spread out that we were never once bothered by noise of another guest. We felt like we were secluded in our own piece of paradise! The room was spectacular. There was a separate toilet on one side of the bathroom, a separate shower (with waterfall/rain shower head) and a huge vanity in the middle. The bed had ample outlets. There are various light settings, black out curtains controlled by a remote, and the A/C was perfect. The highlight of this room was the private jacuzzi. sitting in it while it rained was something my 13 year old still talks about!

Lovely rooms with lots of animals on the property. Great pools and even a water slide for the kids. Breakfast was included and was excellent but service could be a bit slow. Comfortable beds and our suite had a kitchen and a deck which we made use of. Very friendly desk staff. I would recommend it

Casa del Rio is fantastic, and we were so please with the amenities and the hospitality. The grounds are stunning, and we saw toucans and other cool wildlife from the hotel. We would love to return!

This was the most beautiful hotel we have visited! The grounds were so well kept and staff is so attentive. We got a couples massage and it was amazing. The food and drinks are very good. I cannot say enough about our stay at Casa Del Rio.
