This property for being a curio room was not as nice as it should have been. Tub was chipped and didn’t drain. Air would not work. Maintenance did come and fix it in the morning.

This hotel suited our needs for one night. Beds were comfortable and the food at The Rackhouse was excellent. I am a bit put off by the lack of transparency and customer service. I booked through Expedia and understand that miscommunication can occur. I paid a bit more on Expedia for breakfast to be included. However, when checking in, the front desk associate disagreed. The associate offered no explanation or assistance. I contacted Expedia who quickly solved the problem and we were able to receive our vouchers. Once we got home, I noticed an additional $12 parking fee added to my statement. The hotel never mentioned this fee when checking in; I was simply given a pass for my car. Both of these are easy fixes- get the rate right with the third party vendor (simply remove breakfast as an option when booking) and be up front about the parking charge when checking in.

The property outside looks very nice and inviting. However, my room had a very poor paint job and the room stayed cold due to the big gap where the ac/heating unit was installed in the wall. You either burned up or froze to death. The shower pressure was lackluster at best and the tub did not drain well. The shampoo bottle was pulled off the wall and left at the side of the tub. The paint job in the bathroom was done with an after thought. Very poor! The tile in the shower had been painted over and the tile around the base of the wall was only half painted revealing the original color. For what I paid, it was very overpriced! This will be my one and only stay here! The front desk and staff were very nice and helpful, however!

Our first night there, we had a room next to the elevator mechanical room and there was no window. We asked to be moved and we were put in a great room on the first floor. Our last night there, the fire alarm went off at 4 am! It stopped and when we called the front desk, they said it was fine, but no explanation. You are now charged to park there, which we haven’t had before. The customer service was great, but the few things that did happen put a damper on the trip.

We booked 2 queen or double beds and the have us one king bed. They said it was their choice but I didn’t book it where it was their choice I booked 2 beds. They didn’t care. It was just really how matter of a fact attitude it was there was no customer service at all. It wasn’t like unfortunately we have to put you in king bed room. It was that’s the way it is. We pick end of store. I travel constantly and this was just poor in a place that was nice it was a manager too.

The hotel has a lot of old rustic charm and atmosphere. We had an event there as well and it was very nicely done with excellent food.

Stayed here during a horrible snowstorm. The staff at checkin were very professional and friendly. The room was large and clean, nice toiletries in the bath. While there is a coffeemaker in the room, there are not microwaves or refrigerators. We needed both since we had a baby with us. (I didn’t check this before making the reservation. The baby was dismissed from the hospital, and we needed a place). However, I called the desk and they did send us up a fridge! So part of the problem was fixed quickly. Overall it was a great place to stay, close to the hospital and our refuge from the storm.
