Welcome to The Chestnut, a NuLu area home that includes two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and sleeps up to four people. The home is within walking distance of over 60 restaurants, bars, retail and vintage stores, bourbon distilleries, breweries and entertainment venues in the NuLu Neighborhood. It is also a short distance from Paristown Pointe, Fourth Street Live, Logan Street Market, the Yum! Center, and Downtown Louisville.

Walking distance to NuLu. Also near Germantown, the Barrett Street Corridor, The Highlands, Baxter Road, and Bardstown Road.
Close to the downtown hospitals, fairgrounds, Kentucky Kingdom and the airport.

I’ve used VRBO for years and have never left a negative review, but this experience raises serious safety and integrity concerns.We booked this home for one night. Upon arrival, the keypad/deadbolt malfunctioned repeatedly, making both entry and securing the home difficult. Inside, there were multiple maintenance issues, including dim lighting, a non-working ceiling fan light, sloping floors and a loose, unresponsive thermostat.The most serious issue occurred when we returned around 12:30 AM. The bathroom window was not just unlocked—it was open, had no screen, and would not lock. It was large enough for someone to easily enter the home. This is a significant safety risk, not a minor issue. The host stated it was an original window (1900) and claimed he was unaware, which is unacceptable for a rental property.Because we did not feel safe, we gathered our belongings to leave. While doing so, we discovered a trap door hidden under rugs, which further heightened our concern. We left immediately and drove nearly four hours home in the middle of the night.The host initially agreed to issue a refund but later refused, making false claims that we stayed overnight and misused the property. This is inaccurate—we left shortly after returning due to safety concerns.Due to the security issues and the host’s failure to honor a stated refund, I cannot recommend this property.

Scott is the perfect host! If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. This is a cute little house in the perfect location. 15 minutes from the Louisville Slugger Museum, 20 minutes to Mega Caverns and Lights Under Louisville, several churches and great restaurants are nearby. The neighborhood was quiet, the house is well-equipped with basic essentials (and great coffee). We’re saving this one for another trip to L-vil.

Great stay! Wonderful communication pre- and during the trip. The house was roomy and had just about everything we could need. It was walkable to some of the locations we were visiting, and easily driveable to the rest. We loved the car parking in the back and appreciated the clear instructions provided in the book in the kitchen. We did stay in the secondary bedroom to have better access to wall sockets for overnight charging, but both rooms were very comfortable. All around great stay!

We had a great stay. This property was MUCH larger inside that it appears on the listing and gave us plenty of room to spread out and have our own space, or spend time together in the kitchen and living room. The covered parking was an added bonus! Would definitely recommend staying here and consider visiting again.
