Poor service by front desk staff. When I extended my stay forced me to switch rooms to a smaller one and told me I had paid for different rooms. Both times I had paid for standard rooms. They also tried to change an agreed rate on me. Sheets were unchanged for 3 days. You always have to ask for extra towels. Food was not great. Wouldnt book again.

There were a few issues with my room when i arrived. Some things did not work. But the staff quickly attended to those issues and are an absolute blessing to this hotel. They are truly amazing and embody African hospitality.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 4 years or so. It is a pity that Hotels.com has not always offered rooms, instead I have had to book through a competitor. It is very convenient, very close to East Park shopping mall. The hotel itself offers reasonable value with a guarded car park, though maintenance of the rooms need to be improved.

I do not recommend this hotel. My experience was very disappointing. Upon returning to my room late at night, I discovered that the hot water was not working. After waiting over 30 minutes for maintenance to arrive, they confirmed that there was no hot water available in any of the other rooms either. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I had an early flight to catch at 5 AM and just wanted to take a hot shower before leaving. Service from reception was slow, adding to my frustration, and I had to call multiple times to get someone to even show up to take a look at the shower.

The grand palace was truly a great hotel to stay in. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The location was great. The one drawback for us was the safe was on the very bottom and was impossible to get to unless you got down on the floor and for us older people that was impossible to do.
