The whole complex was very old and tired and our room had paper peeling off walls. The handbasin was in the bedroom. The advertised bar and restaurant was closed. The walls were thin and next inits noisy.

The property is in an amazing situation with fabulous views over the lake. It is in need of updating and other than some of the last occupants clothing being left in our room, it seemed clean. We stayed for 4 nights and asked for our room to be serviced on day 3 but it didn't happen. It just needs some investment and it would be great.

The place had great views and was walking distance from Pearl Harbour and the Doubtful Sound cruise I went on. Another lovely part of New Zealand.

Old property which has been given basic upkeep. Incomplete crockery cutlery etc. Fantastic view from the room. Hotel with sign that states Cold Beer and Hot Food as been shut since Covid apparently. Te Anau for meals.

Absolutely amazing location. Good to have a laundry. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Easy parking close to room. Quiet. Lovely verandah. Hot shower with good water pressure. Just needs a good refurb to bring it up to modern standards but perfectly adequate and good value for money.

Would not recommend this place unless you are absolutely desperate. We booked a superior studio with a queen a twin bed. We were given a much smaller room with one full bed. There is NO internet, no microwave as it is advertised in the description of the property.

Ok in an emergency

Toilet badly needed cleaning. Room needed vacuuming. Hot water was extremely hot as to burn fingers when turning off taps. Whoever painted the bathroom should be fired. Smoke detectors 10 years out of date as well as fire extinguishers. Man at front counter was great.

We will tell everyone to never stay here--horrible

We were put in a room that in no way matched the room that we had booked. We booked for three nights, but stayed only two. We forfeited the cost of the third night because we didn't want to stay any longer. Here are the items that didn't match up with the room we booked: there was no seating area - sitting on the beds was the only option. There was no kitchenette - no microwave, no cutlery, no kitchen sink, no dishes. There was no dining area. The TV was an old black and white TV that was unable to display the full screen of the programs we tried to watch. There was a small bathroom sink. The tap was so low that it was impossible to fill the electric kettle with water. The shower was unusable -- the trickle of water that came out was about the size of a pencil. The bathroom faucet ran constantly and couldn't be shut off entirely. The wall paper and paint were peeling. The room wasn't filthy, but definitely wasn't clean. The manager did not seem to care at all about our displeasure with the accommodation.

Quiet place, pub/restaurant was closed next door and has been for some time. 10minute walk to the Church for good food and drinks. Clean and functional rooms with fridge, microwave, kettle etc. probs a little over priced but it is Te Anau area which was a 20 minute easy drive to the township

Location is good, view is excellent…. But the place is run down and poorly maintained. It is embarrassing to have tourists arrive in this hovel. Such a shame. Manapouri and Te Anau deserve better. Lift your game!

Clean beds. Good views, like a step back in time, before the vinyl tiles in the bathroom started breaking up, toilet needed a scrub, hadnt been white for some time. Cheapest place i could find for a one night stay, in at 11.30pm out 5 30am so the bed was the best bit.... oh and the usb charging jack by the bed
