Very cool property. Excellent restoration. Great service. Very clean. Fun pictures from the filming of the movie Giant throughout the hotel.

Check in was quick and easy and the front desk attendant was very helpful. The room was plenty spacious for 2, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, but being an older hotel, you can hear neighbors and doors closing, so some kind of sound machine is advised. We were disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast.

As vegan, i had one restaurant option: a portabello mushroom on a bun. No sauce with it. I would expect a hotel that charges $300 per night to be a bit more creative with a vegan option.

The hotel was adorable. However, I booked and was charged for a Family Suite, but we were given a Family Double Room. When I asked about it, I was told Travelocity messed up. I showed him a picture of the posting. He said Travelocity had the wrong descriptions for the rooms. He said this was a continually issue and they could do nothing about it. We were very disappointed as we had splurged for this special Family Suite. We should have at least been given a refund for the difference in the cost of the rooms.
