Has become my go to place to stay when in Melbourne. Always a high standard, close to two train stations and a tram stop. Easy checkin and car parking is easy to access.

Oh dear Adina, not good enough. The room was ok, staff friendly BUT there was no guest control of the aircon, when it worked. They even moved us and offered other rooms but the problem was hotel wide. If you wanted the temp changed you had to ring them and they happily obliger, but they never admitted or even discussed the issue.

Positives- location if you want a fairly quick airport run and the prison history is wonderful. Good sized room and kitchen facilities, comfortable bed. Negatives- our rooms air con was malfunctioning for the entire first afternoon and we had a very uncomfortable post-flight rest before our evening out despite reassurances from the (very pleasant) staff it would be fixed by mid afternoon. Then when we returned at 11 pm the air con was working , but a function’s music beneath us kept us from sleeping. The doors to the other rooms also bang very loudly and all voices in the corridor come through the door. The shower water pressure is very poor and the hot water took a long time to come through. In the morning we tried to get into breakfast but the two floor staff were overwhelmed by just a small amount of people in the restaurant so we gave up waiting for a table and went to Coburg on a tram. Overall it was fine for the one night but we would have left after one night if we had been staying longer , and wont be returning.
