You won’t find a better spot to watch the sunset over the Tasman Sea, with sweeping views of Mt Taranaki and the Mokau River. Unwind in the wood-fired sauna, take the hill track up to the lookout, and soak up the relaxed charm of the West Coast.
The space
Perched high above Mokau village on the wild west coast of New Zealand’s North Island, this off-grid cabin offers panoramic views over the Mokau River and the Tasman Sea. Designed as an open-plan retreat, the kitchen, dining, lounge and sleeping space share one cosy room — creating a simple, relaxed space that keeps you close to nature.
Soak in the scenery from every angle, then fire up the wood-fired sauna for a truly relaxing end to the day. This is a place to disconnect from the busy world and slip into a slower rhythm — whether you're walking the hilltop trail, exploring the rugged coastline, or just kicking back on the deck with a view that stretches forever.
